We met during our senior year at Montreat College through mutual friends. Although we had both attended Montreat for all of our undergrad, we hadn't met until our final semesters. (Although rumor has it, Trenton has been interested in me since our sophomore year). We finally met at the beginning of our senior year.

I (Kyann) had just came back from my 2-month internship where I was student teaching in Honduras and was excited to enter senior year with my best friends. After a few weeks of being back at Montreat, I (Kyann) realized I had been getting Snapchat messages from a guy that I didn't know from Montreat. The night of Halloween, all my friends and his friends got together and we finally met. I wouldn't say it was love at first sight but after spending an entire evening conversing, we both agreed that we wanted to hangout again.

The next day we texted all day and I (Kyann) was so nervous that I still remembers the first text he ever sent me that said "How are the Rugrats today?” because I was student teaching to complete my internship.

The following day we hung out with our, now, two closest couple friends (Blake and Alara) and had a double “date”. The following Sunday we went on our first official date to church followed by lunch at Zaxby's. Still to this day Zaxby's is a staple in our relationship.

After our first date we were stuck like glue and a piece of me will always feel like I missed out on experiences during our time in undergrad together. I love our story. I always reflect on how we went a small Christian school in the mountains of North Carolina and never met sooner. However, I’m thankful for the timeline that God so perfectly crafted. I am grateful to have been introduced to the man of my dreams, I truly can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

I am so thankful to everyone who has supported and prayed over our relationship and for those who will continue to pray for us as we enter this new and exciting phase of life.
