Like many modern love stories, ours started online—with a lot of talking, laughing, and maybe a little harmless stalking (just to be safe).
It all began with one message. Sent on a whim, answered out of curiosity. One reply turned into another, then another. Before we knew it, we were texting every day, bonding over sarcasm, stories, and more memes than we care to admit. It didn’t take long before we were sending each other things that would confuse anyone else—but had us both laughing at our phones like lunatics.
After months of chatting, we finally met in person at a cozy little family-owned restaurant in Cape Elizabeth. April 13th, 2019. The nerves were real. So was the connection. It was simple, sweet, and totally us—comfortable, exciting, and somehow familiar, all at once.
A year later, we moved into our first apartment—just us, a couple of cats, and way too many trips to Hobby Lobby.
In 2022, we leveled up our pet-parent game and welcomed our first dog. By 2025, we planted roots and started the next chapter of our lives in Naples. Of course, with another addition to the family, our second dog.
And now... about the proposal.
Krystle had one rule: no marriage talk before the two-year mark. Kyla? She started asking for a ring the second that anniversary hit. Cue a few months of not-so-subtle hints, Thanksgiving dinners, and Black Friday sales. While Kyla was mid-sales pitch (read: trying to drag Krystle to the jewelry store), Krystle’s mom called. Kyla figured it was game over—stores were closing. But when her mom asked her usual, “Whatcha doing?”, Krystle casually replied, “Going to buy rings.”
Surprise. For everyone involved.
From that first online message to this life full of pets, laughter, love, and inside jokes—we couldn’t be more excited to make it official, surrounded by the people we love most. The story of us has been full of surprises, joy, and growth.
And the best part? It’s still being written.
