Gunnar and Kyla's story is unusual but it is what makes their relationship uniquely special.

At the end of the 2020 academic year, they both had big decisions to make. Gunnar was deciding whether to go back for his 5th year at Carson-Newman to complete his Masters and play another year of baseball, while Kyla was deciding whether to return to Carson-Newman for her second year, or stay home in South Africa permanently.

As fate would have it...

They both decided to return to Carson-Newman...

It still took Gunnar a while to finally reach out to Kyla. He did however wait until Kyla was home in South Africa for the Christmas break! At this stage they had still not met face to face...

As love stories go, there always seems to be a twist, and for them, it meant two months of messaging and video calls before finally meeting and hanging out.

From that moment on, there was no looking back!
