Our Wedding

David and I swiped right on each other on bumble. If you’re not familiar with bumble, the lady has to initiate the conversation. I was always so clever with an opening line but I played it cool this time and hit him with a “Hey! How are you?”. David replied pretty quickly and the conversation took off. Four days later, we had our first date at Planks in Grove City, Ohio. David immediately fell head over heels. Some would even say it was love at first site. However, I saw a handsome man in a flannel and knew it was a done deal. We were inseparable for the whole first week. Saw each other every day after that until I had to go to Michigan to visit my sister for the weekend. We obviously continued to talk and text nonstop the whole weekend. On the way home, I was texting him about my mother’s terrible driving. His reply was “Jesus take the wheel” and I was cackling aloud in the car. My mom looked at me like i was crazy. When I told her what I was laughing about and who sent it, I think she knew right then that this man was the one! Over the next month, I was out of town for several occasions but the conversation still went on and we continued to grow closer. About 3 months into our relationship, David dropped those 3 beautiful words, I Love You! Obviously, I said it back immediately! It was the most magically moment. Not too long after, covid hit and shut down the whole world. We moved up to Lake Erie with Davids parents for about 3 months before I had to go back into the office in Columbus. Once we were back in Columbus and back at our own places, we realized we couldn’t do life separate anymore. We found an apartment and moved in together after 9 months of dating… crazy, right? After a year and a half in that apartment, we bought a big back yard for our girl, Mieke! She still loves her yard in case anyone was wondering. We’ve made this house our home. We’ve filled the walls of this home with memories, laughter, and love. Although, this is our home and we love spending time here, we still need vacations every now and then. In October of 2023, we went to Cancun, Mexico with some friends. I told my coworker the entire previous month that I think it’s finally going to happen. I really had no idea because there’s been several picture perfect moments and it didn’t happen. The day he proposed, we spent all day out on the beach snorkeling. We finally went up to get ready for dinner and to take some photos out on the rocks by the beach before dinner. David said he wanted to do the “titanic” pose. So I turned around facing the ocean when I heard his voice crack while saying “Kyla, turn around”. I immediately knew what was happening and began to sob. With tears of happiness in my eyes, I turned around to see David down on one knee asking me to be his wife! He cried, we cried, our friends cried. It was a special moment and forever frozen in my mind. We went back to the room to call our families and share the news! Only David’s mom was aware that he was going to propose. Everyone else was shocked but also thrilled, happy, and excited for us. After the phone calls ended, we celebrated with a lovely steak dinner, just the two of us. We returned from vacation on cloud 9 and surprised our pup with the good news! I’m pretty sure if she could talk, she would’ve said “about time!”. Our life together has been the most fun adventure we’ve ever been on. We’ve made a house a home, made so many memories, took so many trips, completed numerous projects, we’ve leveled up in our careers, we celebrate each other, we support each other, and we continue to be the best version of ourselves each and every day for each other. The love we share is a definite a once in a lifetime love. We cannot wait to say “I Do” in front of some of the most special people in our lives and spend forever together! ❤️

Bridal Party

Sierra and I met when the soccer coach paired every Senior up with a mentee Freshman. Little did I know that this little freshman I was stuck with all soccer season would turn out to be one of my best friends for life. Sierra's whole family quickly grew to be like a second family to me. Sierra recently graduated nursing school, has two beautiful little girls, and is thriving in life! We have so many memories together but one of my favorite memories would be us playing rock band nearly every chance we got growing up. I was terrible but Sierra always killed in on expert level. You'll have to ask her about her first college party too. Sierra has been next to me through it all, that is why she is my Maid of Honor.

Taylor and I met working at a tie dye factory. She walked in that place and put every single other person's work to shame. She is easily one the hardest working humans I know. I knew then that this girl and I were going to be friends. Whether she wanted to or not. I'll never forget the time we finally convinced Taylor to come to our friend Guys' party. She challenged our friend Phil and I in a game of beer pong. Lets just say, that game was over before it even started. My friend Phil and I never left the tables that night so Taylor had to give it another shot against the champs. AND That game was over before it even started. Since then, we became the best of friends. Taylor married one of my really good friends and I had the honor of standing next to her on her wedding day. When choosing my wedding party, there was no doubt that she would be next to me. 

Taylor Reece

Courtney and I met at the end of our freshman year of college. We were introduced through friends and went to a party together where we quickly became besties. This was towards the end of the year and I moved back to Columbus but we remained the best of friends. Courtney went on to graduate college and earn her Doctorate degree. I can't count how many concerts, events, and memories we have shared together through the years. One of favorites pastimes with Courtney was always meeting up at BBR for $1 tacos on Wednesdays. Dollar tacos always turned into nights we'll never remember with friends we'll never forget. I couldn't imagine saying "I do" without the woman who held me up during some of my toughest times.

Courtney Green

Mary and I met through a mutual friend back in the day when going out to Nyohs. We never really created a friendship until years later when she DM'd me asking me to be the coolest roommate to ever exist. How do you turn that down, right? Mary and I ended up living together with her two cats for 4 years. We were friends but got really close during the last year that I lived with her. We created a strong friend group, start taking trips together, spending all summer by the pool, and going to the best firework shows that London, OH could've put on. We've truly made some memories for the history books! Thankful to have her next to me on the big day! Even if she didn't approve of David because he stole her favorite roommate away!

Mary Hall

Olivia and I met in high school. The day we showed up to cheerleading tryouts, I had no idea this girl would be one of my best friends. She was full of so much energy and had all the pep in her step… and not a single thing has changed to this day. We have been on several adventures together and she introduced me to my favorite state side beach. Other than traveling, we’ve had our fair share in state adventures too. We have collected so many memories together that I wouldn’t even know where to start. Olivia has always been there for me and I couldn’t imagine my day without her next to me as I begin the next chapter in life.

Olivia Pittman

Stephanie and I met back in the day when we sold unlimited breadsticks for a living at the OG. Soon after becoming friends, she took off to live in Hawaii for a couple years. She gave birth to the sweetest little guy who immediately became like a nephew to me. Once she moved back to Ohio, we would spend days at the park, getting dinner, putt putt and playgrounds. We have created so many memories together. She would occasionally join Courtney and I on $1 taco nights too. If you stay by my side through soup, salad, and breadsticks, you definitely have to stay by my side during the big day! 

Stephanie West

I was also introduced to Hannah and her husband Jake through David. David went to college with her husband (and Bob's too). They created such a long and special friendship over the years and welcomed me with arms wide open from the start. Hannah and I quickly bonded over so many things. From Stranger things to farmers markets to Taylor Swift and Bridgerton. We've spent endless hours chatting it up over our love for many things. Hannah, Bob, and I have spent many hours hanging out at Hannahs kitchen island for girls nights on Tuesdays while the boys bowl in their league. We have grown pretty close over the last couple years. So thankful for the friendship her and I have created and can't wait to have her next to me on David and I's wedding day!

I was introduced to Bob through David. She is the wife of his best man. From the very beginning, we just clicked. When I met Bob and Russ, I knew they were friends for life. Over the course of the last several years, we have travelled to the mountains, the beach, and sin city together. We've created a decade of memories in just a few short years knowing each other. When choosing my wedding party, it was absolutely necessary to have her next to me so we can look back on these memories forever.

Russ and I met on my first day of college at football training camp. We ended up rooming together our Sophomore year and half of our Junior year. There were many late nights playing Call of duty and Guitar Hero (medium bass is the toughest part). When we graduated it did not take long for him to move to Columbus where we continued our friendship. We played in many beer leagues ranging from softball, volleyball and bowling. He has always been someone I could count on for anything and I am proud to have him be my best man and be by my side on the biggest day of my life. Tuesdays are for the Boys.

Russell Krouse

I met Jake my Sophomore year when the boys and I showed him all the possibilities that the fine University of Bluffton had to offer. We had some great times traveling to see Hannah (his wife) at the OSU campus. This includes but not limited to the time that we met Gorden Gee at house party. I feel very fortunate to have Jake living in the same city within a close distance. Tuesdays are for the Boys.

Jake Kendall 

I also met Mango on the first day of college at camp, and when we first met we were both David. This lasted for about a minute till he went by his last name Mango and I went by me nickname Hemi. He started out on the defensive line with me until the coaches recognized he talents were better suited for the offensive line. Never being one to shy away from anything, he was always and still is a sparkplug to any social situation. I value our friendship and memories we have made and we continue to make. Tuesdays are for the Boys.

David Mango

Hayden and I also met in college (there seems to be a theme) and roomed together half of my Junior year and all senior year. He was a year under me but became good friends the first time we met. He was always down to have someone drive him to McDonalds, which always sounded good so I usually did. He was also on the offensive side of the ball like Russ, Mango, and Jake (another theme). We shared many laughs and good times. Although he lives in Indiana that doesn’t stop us from talking about movies and The Office. Always one to bring a smile to your face I am happy to have him in my life.

Hayden Vogely

I met Isaac while I was hanging out with Kyla. We met for the first time over dinner at planks and the next time was over chicken nuggets at the Hall residence.  The best Snap On salesman in the U.S.A., he is a selfless and caring individual, who is always there if you need to talk, or just ask how you are doing. Always making jokes and making people laugh, he is a social butterfly who has the ability to light up any room he walks into. I have known him the least amount of time out of anyone, but look forward to growing our friendship.

Issac Redfern

I have know Mason (who is my Nephew) the longest out of anyone. I have held him from when he was about the size of a football and now he is almost as tall as me (he would say he is taller). I cherish the memories that I have with him, which include but are not limited to fishing off the dock up at the lake and playing 2k (even though I won everytime). It still seems like it was only yesterday he was only a child, but he is now driving and has the whole world ahead of him. He is my only nephew and I am proud to call him my family.
