Kyla and Gabe met (thanks to Gabe's dog, Blue) at a mutual friend's Halloween Party in late 2018. Kyla was dressed as Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus, and Gabe dressed as a Cowboy. Little did Kyla know at the time, Gabe had his eyes set on her from that moment on.

Several months later, Gabe invited Kyla on a McKenzie River float for their first date. She couldn't say no to a drift boat ride on that beautiful sunny day, so on June 1st, 2019, they began the float of a lifetime together. Kyla fell in love right away with Gabe's calmness and peaceful demeanor while keeping her safe on the water. From that point on, their love and trust has only grown deeper through the ups and downs of life, navigating the rapids together while having a blast and keeping the boat upright.
