Another one of our favorite state parks, Gooseberry Falls is great for its accessibility and ability to get up close to the waterfalls.
Explore one of our favorite state parks, Tettegouche State Park. Tettegouche has the amazing cliffs and beaches that overlook Lake Superior and if you're up for a brief hike, you can see the beautiful waterfalls along the Baptism River.
Split Rock State Park offers some great hikes that go along the shore of Lake Superior. You can also enjoy a guided tour of the Split Rock Lighthouse, operated by the Minnesota Historical Society.
If you're willing to trek a little further north, Cascade River State Park has probably the best overlook we have ever found in Minnesota. You get to hike up along cascading waterfalls to reach the expansive overlook over a valley of pine trees bordering Lake Superior, an easy hike with a tremendous reward.
If you're into beer, Castle Danger has one of Kyle and Brenda's (Kyle's mom) favorite beers, the Castle Danger Cream Ale!
Have you heard of the famous pies of the North Shore? If not (or if you have and never tried!), stop by Betty's Pies, right along Highway 61, to try a slice for yourself!
People will often taste test Betty's compared to the Rustic Inn Cafe's pies, to see who really has the best pies of the North Shore.
If you've never been to Duluth, Canal Park is a great place to start. There is a great boardwalk that you can walk along the shore of Lake Superior, explore the numerous shops, and enjoy a meal at the many restaurants. Maybe you'll even be lucky enough to find an agate or see one of the barge ships come through!
If you make your way into Duluth, the Glensheen Mansion is one of our favorite stops. The gorgeous mansion is filled with tons of history inside and out. The grounds you can stroll freely, otherwise we highly suggested a guided tour of the inside!
