It all started in March of 2020 when we matched on a dating app. The timing was a little crazy, as the world was about to shut down due to the pandemic. Our first date was at a little cafe in Fowlerville and right after that, everything went virtual. Our Zoom dates became the highlight of our weeks. We laughed, played games, and spent countless hours getting to know each other, all from a distance.
Then, in May, things opened up enough for us to meet again in person. Our favorite way to spend time together was to travel. Some of our favorite places included Chicago, New York, Pennsylvania, California, and Traverse City. Those trips became memories we still cherish. Traveling together showed us how well we balance each other and how much we enjoy simply being in each other’s company.
After all we had been through together, Kyle knew he wanted to make things official and ask Holly to spend the rest of her life with him. So, he planned a trip to Florida, and while we were at the beach, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Holly was over the moon, but little did she know, the surprises weren’t over.
After the proposal, Kyle took Holly to an Airbnb where his parents were staying, and the celebration continued. Holly’s eyes filled with tears of joy when she realized her aunt and uncle, who are incredibly special to her, were there to join in the celebration. It was a moment neither of us will ever forget.
The day ended with a beautiful dinner in Fort Lauderdale, surrounded by both of our families. It felt like a fairy tale, and we couldn’t have asked for a more magical moment to mark the beginning of the rest of our lives. We’ve been through so much together already, and now, we’re so excited to spend the future hand-in-hand, knowing we’ve built something truly special.
