The dress code is "Beach Formal"! That is to say, dress up nice and presentable but for the beach. Leave the tuxedo at home! Linen pieces are great. Ties aren't necessary, and black suits and dresses are to be generally avoided (though we won't be too angry).
If you show up like James Bond in a black-tie tuxedo, you will stand out and, unfortunately, it will be kind of funny.
Can we wear open-toed shoes?
Flip-flops? No, please don't do it. Nice sandles? Maybe! The majority of this event will be taking place inside with air conditioning (and what's likely to be a cold floor), so we would advise wearing shoes you feel comfortable eating and dancing in!
Is there a specific color scheme to this wedding?
The color scheme of the decor itself shouldn't really be taken into consideration when determining what to wear... but in terms of decorations, we're thinking blue and orange.*
*To the American side of the family, please hold your horses. We love the Gators, but that does not mean that this is a University of Florida-themed wedding.
Will the bar be open?
Bet on it.
Will the food be sit-down or buffet-style?
Buffet!
Do you have a registry / wishlist?
If possible, we'd prefer to avoid any physical gifts as we will have limited luggage space when returning to Sweden after the wedding! Instead, we have made a Honeymoon Fund (link below) which guests can contribute to!
