Our story begins back in April 2021. Kyle had just moved back to Michigan and began working for Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Meanwhile, Madelynne was finishing up her senior year of nursing school At Saint Mary's College. She had clinical rotation once a week on a step-down unit where Kyle was working at the time. With it being Covid times, and everyone was still required to wear masks, it was hard to recognize people. Madelynne thought that Kyle looked very familiar and called him out on it while they were on their lunch break. They realized that they both went to Bridgman High School but paths never crossed because Kyle graduated in 2013 and Madelynne in 2017. After only two encounters at the hospital and a month went by, Madelynne couldn't seem to understand why, but she felt the need to get to know Kyle better. Kyle had no form of social media at this time, therefore, she had no way of contacting him. She realized they had mutal friends and received Kyles phone number from one of them. She would go on to text Kyle and ask if she could buy him a beer and pizza from Haymarket in exchange for some helpful tips about the NCLEX nursing exam. Kyle agreed, and on June 8th they had their first date. 2 hours went by, and Madelynne had not asked a single question about the NCLEX exam, Kyle safely assumed that Madelynne had no intention about discussing the exam, and he was correct. That night Kyle asked Madelynne out on another date, and the rest is history.
