Our Wedding

We first met in January 2023 at Georgia Southern University in a chemistry class — and while the lectures might not have sparked much excitement, it turned out we had a little chemistry of our own. She sat just behind me, and though my first attempts at conversation didn’t quite win her over, fate clearly had other plans.A few weeks later, on February 23, destiny intervened. I was backing out of a parking spot when we nearly ran into each other — a near miss that turned into the most serendipitous moment of my life. Later that day, a message from her on GroupMe sparked the first of many conversations, and before long, we were inseparable.Not long after, we welcomed our Goldendoodle, Buck, into our lives, and our little family began to grow. That July, while sitting together on the back porch of our Airbnb in Savannah, I asked her to be my girlfriend beneath the soft summer sky. A year later, in July 2024, we moved in together and began building a home filled with laughter, love, and an endless supply of dog toys.Then, on May 15, 2025, beneath the golden glow of a Charleston sunset, I turned to her, my heart full, and gazed into her eyes — those beautiful eyes where I’d always found my home. With the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge stretching gracefully behind us and sunlight dancing across the water, her smile shone brighter than the evening sky. In that perfect, timeless moment, I asked her to marry me… and she said yes.From a quiet seat in a college chemistry class to a lifetime of love ahead, we’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.

Watch an eagle take flight, touch our lime-green friend, Monty the Python, or explore the different habitats of raptors, reptiles and mammals at the Center for Wildlife Education and the Lamar Q Ball Jr. Raptor Center. With more than five acres featuring diverse habitats and species, an amphitheater, and an indoor classroom, get ready to take a walk on the wild side!The Center also features an invasive species exhibit, showing all the various species that are currently "attacking" Georgia. The Center features a 12-acre wetland preserve that includes a small pond and capture basin that houses a beaver lodge, a cypress pond and a waterfowl pond. Resident species of birds of prey include eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, kestrels and vultures. Reptiles and amphibians also on display. On Saturdays, see flighted raptor demonstrations (weather permitting), or stroll along our self-guided nature walks, and visit the Children's Discovery Trail.

The Garden features over 11 acres of gardens on the early twentieth century farmstead of Dan and Catharine Bland. Wander the trails, paths and courtyards and explore the intriguing natural and cultural wonders of the southeastern coastal plain, where persistence, ingenuity, and a deep respect have bound people to the land. Discover a significant and growing collection of native and heritage plants, including over 20 of the state’s protected species. Peer down a pitcher plant, gaze upward at the gnarled branches of a magnificent longleaf pine, and inhale the heavy scent of confederate jasmine. Wrap your hands around the handles of a plow or admire the 1929 cover of Georgia Magazine, which features Mr. Dan and Ms. Catharine’s farm as an inspiration for all of Georgia. Enjoy the past, wonder at the present and learn for the future at the Botanic Garden.

Welcome to the Georgia Southern Museum where collections, exhibits, and programming interpret the natural and cultural history of Georgia’s coastal plain and the exciting research and work taking place at Georgia Southern University. The shallow ancient oceans that swept back and forth for millions of years formed this unique region. The Museum’s permanent exhibits tell the story of the coastal plain’s changing environments, animals, and cultures that have called it home.

The S &amp; S Greenway is a 2.75 mile paved walking/biking trail that runs on the former Savannah &amp; Statesboro (S&amp;S) Railroad right-of-way. The Trailhead at Gentilly Road features restrooms, paved parking, and informational signage for users. The multi-use trail is 12 feet wide and continues eastward crossing under the 301 Bypass. Then trail then crosses Cawana Road and runs parallel to Railroad Bed Road before ending at another trailhead located at the intersection of Pretoria-Rushing and Burkhalter Roads. The Trailhead at Pretoria Rushing Road also features paved parking, restroom facilities, informational signage, water fountains, park benches and a picnic area.
