At the end of Foresthill Road there is a short dirt road drive and short dirt road walk to get to Duncan Peak Fire Lookout. It is usually manned but they welcome you to come up and look around. On a clear day you can see Monument Peak - home to Heavenly Resort in South Lake Tahoe. It is about an hour from the Venue .

Short dirt road drive from the venue to an old suspension bridge crossing the North Fork of the American River. Great swimming hole if weather permits. They will be building a new bridge next to the existing, so construction may have impacts to access.
