Our Wedding

Our Story:

In May of 2023, we first met after finding each other online. Funny enough, many of our friends already knew each other meaning the connections were there. Much of that summer was spent by truly diving deep into who we are as people and continuing to build our love. Although we both attend(ed) different schools that amount to an hour and a half away from each other, this distance allowed us to cherish the time we had more. Whether it be an impulse decision to go get Chick Fil A, golfing, watching Dance Moms, or whatever the setting of our time spent together looks like, the most important thing is we are together. She compromises by watching football all weekend, scary movies when she has to work at 3 AM the next morning, and the constant begging to go to Taco Bell and Raising Canes any chance he gets to ask. He compromises by **attempting** to watch Grey's Anatomy, listening to hospital horror stories, and impromptu visits to varying coffee shops. Love is all about compromise and sacrifice. Understanding that sacrifice, trial and tribulation, and the hard times are the most important parts of a relationship can be difficult. This showcases the love between two individuals to continuously learn to love each other in any way She didn't get mad at him when he didn't realize you had to formally ask someone to be his girlfriend. When he got on one knee to ask her to be his girlfriend he didn't know how symbolic it would be for when he would get on a knee just 20 months later. Our story has already contained many different emotions. From happy to sad tears, one thing never changed in our story. That one thing being that we have always stayed by each other's side through everything. We truly believe that the other was sent from God to touch the life of ourselves. When we think back to the proposal, I (Kyler) remember how nervous I was the whole day. I wasn't nervous because I thought she'd say no. I knew that she was tired of waiting for the question and we were both ready. I was so nervous because I felt as if my dreams were really coming true. Having so much of our family there and being able to call those who weren't. This is just a taste of what it will be like on our special day and we cannot wait for May 9th to celebrate our love and what God has brought together. We are most excited to form and live in the covenant of marriage and to get married not for what we want, but for each other. We may not have been looking for each other when we found our love, but just as he always does, the Lord's plan unfolds just as it should. We couldn't be more excited for our big day and we cannot wait to see you all there!

Alexa is a graduate of IWU and is pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at a graduate school. I have been close friends with Alexa since my freshman year of college. I went from napping on her floor daily to living with her for the last 2 years. I would not be the woman I am today without her.

We may not see each other often, but I feel so blessed to know her and to call her the little sister I always dreamed of having.

We have always been close growing up, and I will forever cherish the memories of running back and forth between her house and our grandparents' house through the cornfields.

Jaelyn is a momma to the sweetest little baby girl, Lainey. Jaelyn became one of my best friends quickly when she moved to Chicago from Florida to go to college. During this time, we spent many holidays together, and we clicked instantly. Every summer, I looked forward to going to Florida and spending time with her. It was always the most heart-warming week! Jaelyn is the true party starter of the group!
