Cory and Kyley met in college through friends of friends. They hung out in separate friend groups when Kyley was a freshman at SDSU and Cory a Junior at Point Loma Nazarene. One might say Cory had a little crush on Kyley in her skimpy volleyball spandex as he would frequently make it to games and Kyley would say she would remember giggle at the tall guy walking into the gym in basketball shorts and tall clunky Ugg boots. They knew one another from a far but had no idea there paths would cross again after college. 8 years later they meet face to face at a CRSSD music festival in downtown San Diego, immediately recognizing one another. They spent the rest of the two day festival together dancing in the rain and listening to Jai Wolf and other tropical house music. Kyley and Cory dated on and off for a couple months and then after couple serious dates and a memorable moments at Stagecoach music festival they both had realized there was something very special about their connection.
They quickly fell in love, moved in with one another after a few short months of dating. Then quickly became dog parents to River, and finally bought their first home in 2020. The era of Covid19 was the longest couple years of both their lives. They demo’d their old fixer upper then rebuild it while living in trailer for multiple months. If they could survive the aches and pains of a remodel they knew they could do just about anything together. At the end of the project they even adopted the newest member of the family, Barley.
The engagement might have taken sometime to get to but they would both say time well spent and worth the wait! There were highs and lows, ups and downs but ultimately they knew there lives and hearts belong to one another. Between the numerous ocean boat rides, river trips, and mountain adventures they both knew they had found their person and lifelong best friend.
Cory and Kyley set their sights on their furthest adventure yet February 23’ to Europe, to ski the Swiss alps. They started in Germany and ended in Switzerland, the middle for both of them was the most memorable. Cory got down on one knee in Kitzbuhel, Austria in a gondola to ask Kyley to trust, love and marry him. Finally, after 5 years the two of them will get married on the porch they built by their own hands a strong sturdy platform, where they plan to take the next steps with love and devotion as Mr. & Mrs. Reiten.
