Before they even met, God had a plan for this couple to find each other. Arthur grew up in Brazil, while Kylie lived 5,000 miles away in Texas. When Arthur’s family decided to embrace American culture, they initially planned to move to Orlando, Florida, to be near their many Brazilian friends. However, that plan fell through, and they chose Dallas, Texas, where Arthur’s mother’s best friend had moved from Brazil years earlier. Arthur’s parents hoped to have him attend a school in Carrollton, but plans changed again, leading them to find an apartment in Plano. There, Arthur would eventually attend Plano West Senior High School.
But the story doesn’t end there! Two years later, when Arthur was selecting his math class, he was initially set to enroll in regular Algebra. However, his sister persuaded him to try Honors Algebra, the very class Kylie was enrolled in.
And this is where their story truly begins…
Arthur and Kylie's paths first crossed during their junior year in 2018, in an honors algebra class. Arthur couldn't focus on his work and spent the entire 45 minutes every day staring at Kylie. Though Kylie noticed, she brushed it off as Arthur zoning out. One day, Arthur found Kylie's picture in the teacher's seating chart and wrote down her name, albeit misspelled as Kilee, in his notes app so he wouldn't forget.
A month later, Arthur was no longer in the class. However, God had His plans. On his way to a football game, Arthur was scrolling through Instagram and saw Kylie's profile in his suggestions. He recognized her picture and requested to follow her. Noticing Kylie's Snapchat username in her bio, he added her there as well. After Kylie accepted his friend request, Arthur sent a simple hey, marking the beginning of their journey.
They stayed in touch daily, getting to know each other. After a couple of weeks, Arthur asked for Kylie's phone number with the pickup line, If your phone number represented how much money you had in your bank account, how rich would you be?
Their first date was to see Creed II in theaters, and soon after, things got more serious. Other dates included visiting the Gaylord Texan to see an ice museum (where Kylie discovered Arthur didn’t know who Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was) and attending Arthur's church's ugly sweater party (where Kylie met Arthur’s mom, sister, and experienced the loving, vibrant Brazilian culture). On December 23, 2018, Arthur took Kylie to Steak 'n Shake and asked her to be his girlfriend with a heartfelt five-minute speech.
From then on, Kylie embraced Arthur's Brazilian church and culture. In July 2021, she traveled to Brazil with Arthur and his family for a whole month. Here, she was able to finally meet all Arthur’s extended family and explore the hometown in which he grew up. They all returned the following year in July 2022 where Kylie and Arthur got to explore Rio de Janeiro, seeing Christ the Redeemer, and getting painfully burnt on the Copacabana beach (don’t mess with the Brazilian sun).
After high school, Kylie went to college in Austin while Arthur stayed in Dallas. They navigated three years of long distance, finding fun ways to do virtual dates and regularly visiting each other.
About a week before Kylie returned from her five-month study abroad in Brazil, Arthur visited her home and spent hours with her parents. He ended the evening by showing them the beautiful ring he had chosen for Kylie and asking for her father's blessing. Her father joyfully said yes!
On December 30, 2023, Arthur took Kylie to a beautiful, scenic lake, where he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. There were many happy tears from the couple, as well as from their families, who were hiding nearby, capturing the moment in photos and videos. Now, Arthur and Kylie are set to be married on May 23, 2025, ready to continue their journey together in love, faithfulness, and joy.

Uma História Que Só Deus Poderia Criar
Antes mesmo de se conhecerem, Deus tinha um plano para que esse casal se encontrasse. Arthur cresceu no Brasil, enquanto Kylie morava a 5.000 milhas de distância no Texas. Quando a família do Arthur decidiu abraçar a cultura americana, eles inicialmente planejaram se mudar para Orlando, Flórida, para estar perto de seus muitos amigos brasileiros. No entanto, esse plano falhou, e eles escolheram Dallas, Texas, para onde a melhor amiga da mãe de Arthur havia se mudado do Brasil anos antes. Os pais de Arthur esperavam que ele frequentasse uma escola em Carrollton, mas os planos mudaram novamente, levando-os a encontrar um apartamento em Plano. Lá, Arthur eventualmente frequentaria a Plano West Senior High School.
Mas a história não termina aí! Dois anos depois, quando Arthur estava selecionando sua aula de matemática, ele estava inicialmente pronto para se matricular na Álgebra regular. No entanto, sua irmã o persuadiu a tentar a Álgebra avançada, na própria classe em que Kylie estava matriculada.
E é aqui que a história deles realmente começa...
Os caminhos de Arthur e Kylie se cruzaram pela primeira vez no primeiro ano, 2018, em uma turma de álgebra do ensino médio. Aqui, Arthur se recusou a se concentrar em seu trabalho e ficou constantemente olhando para Kylie, literalmente durante os 45 minutos todos os dias. Kylie percebeu; no entanto, ela não deu muita importância a isso e ignorou. Nesta aula, o professor colocava regularmente uma tabela de assentos. Aqui, Arthur encontrou a foto da Kylie e escreveu o nome dela, Kilee, em seu bloco de notas do telefone para não esquecer.
Avançando um mês, Arthur não estava mais na aula. No entanto, Deus trabalha de maneiras maravilhosas e misteriosas. Um dia aleatório, a caminho de seu jogo de futebol, Arthur estava sentado no ônibus, acessando seu aplicativo Instagram de repente, em suas sugestões, o perfil da Kylie foi reconhecido automaticamente por Arthur e pediu para segui-la. Durante esse período, quando o Snapchat era um aplicativo famoso, Kylie tinha seu nome de usuário do Snapchat em sua biografia e então o Arthur a adicionou no Snapchat. Depois que Kylie aceitou sua amizade, Arthur mandou um “oi” e a jornada deles começou.
Kylie e Arthur mantiveram contato todos os dias, conhecendo-se aos poucos, e Arthur usou uma cantada para pedir o numero da Kylie, que foi a seguinte: Se o seu número de telefone representasse quanto dinheiro você tem em sua conta bancária , quão rica você seria?.
Arthur e Kylie tiveram seu primeiro encontro para assistir Creed II nos cinemas. Depois disso, as coisas começaram a ficar mais séria. Outros encontros durante esse período consistiram em ir ao Gaylord Texan para ver seu museu de gelo (onde Kylie descobriu que Arthur não sabia quem era Rudolph, a rena do nariz vermelho - Um personagem de Natal muito famoso na cultura americana) e a feia festa do suéter da igreja do Arthur (onde Kylie conheceu a mãe, irmã do Arthur, e a louca e amorosa cultura brasileira). Em 23 de dezembro de 2018, Arthur levou Kylie ao Steak N Shake (uma lanchonete) e depois a pediu em namoro, fazendo um discurso amoroso de cinco minutos.
A partir deste dia, Kylie passou a frequentar a igreja brasileira do Arthur, onde abraçou e se apaixonou pela cultura. Em julho de 2021, Kylie foi com Arthur e sua família para o Brasil por um mês inteiro. Aqui, ela conseguiu finalmente conhecer toda a família estendida do Arthur e explorar a cidade natal em que ele cresceu. Todos eles retornaram no ano seguinte, em julho de 2022, onde Kylie e Arthur exploraram o Rio de Janeiro, vendo Cristo Redentor e se queimando dolorosamente na praia de Copacabana (não mexa com o sol brasileiro).
Após a formatura do ensino médio, Kylie foi para Austin para fazer faculdade e Arthur ficou em Dallas para fazer faculdade. Eles passaram 3 anos à distância, encontrando maneiras divertidas de fazer encontros virtuais e agendando visitas regulares um ao outro.
Cerca de uma semana antes de Kylie retornar de seus cinco meses de estudo no exterior no Brasil, Arthur visitou sua casa e passou horas com seus pais. Ele terminou a noite mostrando a eles o lindo anel que havia escolhido para Kylie e pedindo a bênção de seu pai. O pai dela disse alegremente que sim!
Em 30 de dezembro de 2023, Arthur levou Kylie a um lindo e único lago, onde se ajoelhou e pediu a Kylie que passasse o resto da sua vida com ele. Foram muitas lágrimas de felicidade do casal, assim como da família, que se escondeu atrás de pilares, tirando fotos e vídeos do pedido de casamento. Agora, Arthur e Kylie vão se casar no dia 23 de maio de 2025, onde se unirão em amor, fidelidade e alegria para continuarem sua jornada juntos.
