Our Story

Nick and Kylie first connected online in 2019, when Kylie came across a photo of Nick swimming with a tiger shark at Tiger Beach in the Bahamas. After studying sharks for many years in various places, she knew they’d have a lot in common. They messaged for weeks, exchanging updates, including pictures of Nick’s new puppy, Finn, but never made concrete plans. They were both very content in their lives and had no rush.

By chance, they finally met in person at <a href="https://g.co/kgs/3BoHCF8" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Wharf</a> in Fort Lauderdale, while Kylie’s best friend Maddie was in town. While at The Wharf, Kylie’s friend Lauren pointed out a cute puppy across the bar, and Kylie immediately recognized Finn—and then Nick. The girls walked over to say hello, and after hours of conversation, laughter, and playing with Finn, Nick asked Kylie on their first date the next day.

They went to <a href="https://g.co/kgs/PBgCrsR" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Papa’s Raw Bar </a>in Lighthouse Point and shared sushi and great conversation. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable, bonding over their love for the ocean. Looking back, the way that weekend unfolded was all by chance. Fate clearly had a hand in bringing them together so effortlessly and naturally!

Fast forward to March 24, 2024—Nick asked Kylie to marry him at their favorite place, the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse! For over five years, this spot has been a cherished location for them, where they've celebrated birthdays, life’s big wins, family outings, and some of their most memorable spontaneous adventures. On December 5th, they'll say "I do" with this special view as their backdrop, sharing its magic with all of you on this special day.

Welcome to Our Wedding Weekend! 🌴💍✨ We’re so excited to celebrate with you in our cute little beach town of Pompano Beach, Florida! If you're flying in, we recommend Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) for the easiest access, but Miami (MIA) and West Palm Beach (PBI) are okay-ish options too! Here's the plan: 🌟 Thursday, December 4th – Join us for a Welcome Party if you're arriving early! We'd love to kick off the weekend with you at the Pier 6 Rooftop Bar (on top of the <a href="https://www.hilton.com/en/attend-my-event/fllppru-913-7050a70f-c115-444b-8d7c-42099aeef2f6/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tru by Hilton Pompano Beach Pier</a>) for Drinks from 7-9 PM! (open bar - beer/wine) 💍 Friday, December 5th – Our wedding ceremony will be early afternoon (arrive by 3 PM—Ceremony at 3:30 PM), so we can party with a little bit of sunlight still! For those taking the Shuttle from the Tru Hotel, the shuttle will arrive at 2 PM and depart by 2:30 PM sharp! The shuttle will be running a route to drop you off at the hotel throughout the night. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Let the countdown begin! 🎉🌴🥂

The Tru Sits just west of the Pompano Beach Pier and Fishing Village. There is plenty to do in the area, with a plethora of bars and restaurants within walking distance, as well as easy beach access. The Embassy Suites is situated in Deerfield Beach, 3.5 Miles North of the wedding venue. This is a quieter area on the Southern end of Deerfield Beach, which overlooks one of Nick's favorite spots to surf.
