Our Story

Kylie and Grant met the summer of 2021 through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, a student-led college ministry, at University of Michigan - Dearborn. Kylie was starting her sophomore year and Grant was starting his senior year, and they were both on the leadership team. They slowly started to get to know each other as friends and learned that they had a lot in common. As the semester went on, they found more excuses to talk to one another and spend time together. All of their friends could tell that they liked each other, even though they both denied it at first. After they had gotten to know each other even more, Grant found the perfect opportunity.

Grant knew that Kylie enjoyed baseball, and the World Series was starting which gave him an excuse to text her about it. This led to conversations sometimes lasting until 2 in the morning about everything but baseball, with topics like Taylor Swift, board games, and even Forkie from Toy Story 4.

A few days later, Grant decided to ask Kylie to watch the game with him at the most romantic place he could imagine - Buffalo Wild Wings. On Halloween night, they met there and stayed until they got kicked out. After that, they sat in the car and talked and laughed some more, listening to Christmas music and Taylor Swift.

After a few weeks of dating and praying about it, Grant asked Kylie to be his girlfriend on November 24, 2021. Their relationship and love for each other continued to grow, and they started looking toward the future. On December 27, 2022, Grant took Kylie to Frankenmuth for the day, which was something she had been wanting to do. As they spent the day shopping and having fun together, Kylie had no idea that Grant had a ring in his pocket. They met up with some friends in the evening to take pictures by the Christmas tree, and that is when Grant proposed! Kylie and Grant are so excited for their future together and can’t wait to see what God will continue to do.
