Not only is Caleb my best man, but he’s also a legend in his own right—or so he tells me. Once, during a camping trip, he claims to have single-handedly fought off a bear using nothing but a folding chair and a bag of marshmallows. Apparently, the bear left so impressed that it invited him to a poker game later that night (he still swears he won). While I can’t confirm the bear story, I can confirm that he has been an incredible friend, an endless source of laughs, and the kind of guy who’s always there to help.

It’s rumored that Katey once single-handedly won a backyard softball tournament after “hydrating” exclusively with margaritas. Despite a questionable pre-game strategy, she hit a walk-off home run, slid into second base just for the dramatic effect, and gave a victory speech that included quoting Space Jam. To this day, no one is sure if the win was skill, luck, or tequila-fueled determination. As the bride’s sister, Katey has been a lifelong partner-in-crime, confidant, and occasional troublemaker. Her sense of humor and unwavering support make her the perfect maid of honor—and she’s already promised not to use her speech to share too many embarrassing childhood stories (we’ll see about that).

Did you know Zach once saved an entire village from a rogue alpaca? Neither did I, but according to him, it involved a bag of carrots, a kazoo, and some highly questionable dance moves. The villagers were so grateful they named a holiday after him—“Wild Man Day.” It’s celebrated every year by everyone except, apparently, the alpaca. Zach (My brother) is one of the most loyal, dependable, and supportive people I know. Plus, he’s got years of experience making fun of me, so being a best man should be second nature.
