The new girl came storming through the doors of St. Anthony HS rocking the double popped collar and, unbeknownst to her, had stolen the parking spot of some kid that she didnt yet know. Little did either of them know at the time that a parking spot wasnt the only thing that girl would steal from the boy. The rest of the story? Well, that takes a bit longer to tell...
The shy guy couldnt ever really muster up the courage to talk to the beauty in the beginning. However as time went on, they started to find things they had in common, such as a love for cheesy fiesta potatoes from Taco Bell, and the connection started to grow from there..
As college began, distance took them apart. Kylie headed north to Milwaukee, WI where she'd dominate on the Marquette University Tennis Team. Matthew didn't head quite as north, landing at Parkland College in Champaign, IL where he played golf for a few years. However, this didnt stop them from spending time together! They stayed in contact and visited each other over the school breaks. Heck, at times they even talked about making plans to transfer schools together.
As time and distance tends to do, these two slowly drifted apart. But even though their paths diverged for awhile, there was always a greater plan. Which leads us back to a little, um, well...
Let's set the stage: Kylie had recently posted a selfie to Facebook. Matthew, after having been out with many of the misfits that make up his side of the wedding party, decided at 1:30 AM that it's a perfect time to reach back out with a simple message: "As always, absolutely looking beautiful. Hope you're doing well!"
Hook. Line. Sinker.
The conversations started slowly, but these two had reconnected and those feelings from those high school and early college years? Yeah, they were coming back stronger than ever. Kylie came back to visit her grandmother in Brownstown one weekend later that summer and they decided to meet up for dinner and drinks at Luke's Bar & Grill. Even though it'd been 12+ years, to them it felt like it'd only been a couple days..
These two have been inseparable ever since. And as they say, the rest of the story is history!
