Kyra and Andrew met in early March 2022, via the online dating app Hinge. Because they lived fairly far apart (Andrew in the Twin Cities and Kyra in Rochester), they FaceTimed a couple times before meeting in person. Thankfully, they pushed past the awkward get-to-know-you questions and set up a first date. Andrew must have already known she was special, because as of March 7th, Kyra's contact in his phone read "Kyra - Future Wifey, Maybe." On March 18th they had their first date, getting Punch Pizza for dinner and Coldstone Creamery ice cream for dessert. That would mark the beginning of an incredible three years together (and counting). They've introduced their two black cats (Bane and Charlie) to one another; gotten to know each other's friends, families, quirks, and hobbies; and have created many fun memories together.

Among the most important things they have bonded over is their shared faith in Jesus Christ. When they first met, Kyra had recently started attending church again after a long time away. In April of 2022, it was a special day for them when Andrew, among her friends and family, witnessed Kyra get baptized as a believer. Since then they've enjoyed faith talks, praying with one another, and attending church together.

Kyra and Andrew have also taken interest in traveling together. Their travels have featured beaches, canyons, museums, and shows across the U.S., as well as castles, ruins, and different cuisines in Mexico and Ireland. One of their most memorable trips will always be to the North Shore, where Andrew surprised Kyra with the best birthday gift ever - a diamond ring! They spent the September day hiking in the State Parks, taking in the beautiful weather and the leaves starting to change color. On their last hike of the day, along the shore of Lake Superior, a nice woman came down the path and captured some photos of them. She was probably equally as surprised when Andrew asked her to switch the phone to video, then got down on one knee to ask Kyra to marry him. Shocked, all Kyra could say was, "No you're not!" before she started crying and nodding her head yes! Over the following days they shared the exciting news with all of their family and close friends. They are incredibly grateful and looking forward to the start of their next chapter with all of you on September 26th, 2025!
