Danny is a born-and-raised Marylander, eating crab cakes by the pound and cheering on the Terps, while Kyra is from sunny California, where she spent her days surfing in the summers and strolling the coast to say hi to the local sea lions. So… how the heck did these two end up together?!-After graduating from San Diego State University, Kyra traded the surfboards for subways and headed to Washington, D.C. to earn her Master’s in Applied Economics from George Washington University. While there, fate (and one incredible mutual friend, thanks Sami Bell) stepped in. Without Sami, this story wouldn’t exist!Around the same time, Danny was finishing up at the Howard County Police Academy. To celebrate, he and one of his groomsmen, Sam, headed to Arlington, VA, to visit Sami for a night out on the town. Danny asked Sami if Kyra could come out with them that night. Kyra… politely declined.-The next morning, while Kyra was heading to a workout class, Danny and Sam were heroically battling the Sunday Scaries. But before Kyra could sneak out the door, Danny called out and asked if she wanted to grab breakfast with them. She said yes!-Over lukewarm eggs and a very mediocre cup of coffee, the two debated very important topics, like whether the Chargers are better than the Ravens, what different police “10-codes” mean, and which coast reigns supreme (still up for debate). Little did they know, they were starting the first chapter of their lifelong story.After breakfast, Kyra followed Danny on Instagram, which is the millennial way of saying I might like you. It took Danny a little longer (as these things often do), but he eventually asked for her number, the millennial way of saying I definitely like you.-After weeks of texting, it was time for the first official date. Danny got tickets to Hairspray at the National Theatre in D.C., and there was a lot of excitement in the air… at least until he got lost on the way to Kyra’s apartment. Thanks to a broken, outdated iPhone, five minutes late turned to ten then twenty and before you know it, Danny showed up thirty minutes late. He was beyond flustered and thought he had ruined his chances. But all Kyra could think was, “This guy’s kinda cute.”-They finally made it to the theater. Though they missed Good Morning Baltimore, Danny was finally able to take a deep breath and enjoy the show. Afterwards, Danny asked if Kyra wanted to grab a drink at the rooftop bar next door. Kyra said “Absolutely!” without hesitation.Time flew by at record speed, though, to be fair, it might’ve been because they were both trying to distract themselves from what may have been the worst orange crush ever made, and before they knew it, it was closing time. It was very clear to both of them that something very special had started.That first date turned into a second… then a third… then their first vacation… meeting each other’s friends and families… a cross-country move… and now, a wedding!-What a ride it’s been, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all!

Flight Information

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is the airport we'd recommend flying through. The other two SoCal airports (LAX and SAN) are well over an hour and a half away from the wedding, while SNA is only a quick 30-minute ride from San Juan Capistrano. We've already had one visitor make the mistake of booking the wrong airport - don't be "that guy!"

Los Rios St and the rest of downtown San Juan Capistrano (along Camino Capistrano) is a cute, quaint town that offers delicious food options and antique stores. Los Rios St is a great place for a morning walk with a cup of coffee in hand!

River Street Marketplace is a brand new development in San Juan Capistrano that offers numerous shops and restaurants! Our alcohol caterer, Capo Brewery, has its storefront there and is definitely a great spot for some cocktails and lite bites.

The best sushi in America can be found right here in Southern California! Our favorite spot is a little shop called Honsan Sushi &amp; Grill. It's a very unassuming restaurant, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in flavor and freshness! We highly recommend getting the Yellowtail Carpaccio, we get it every single week!

Salt Creek Beach is one of many possible beach destinations in the area. There are several other options along Pacific Coast Highway from Laguna Beach all the way down to San Clemente! We highly recommend getting to a beach to watch the sunset over the water at least once while you're in town!

For you hiking enthusiasts, we recommend the Top of the World Hike for sweeping ocean views at the top. It is recommended to park on the dirt alongside Laguna Canyon Rd just past Canyon Acres Dr and then walk up Canyon Acres Dr to the trailhead. **Disclaimer** this is a very challenging hike where you will climb approximately 1000 ft in a mile and a half
