Our Wedding

Kyra and Rob met on Tinder in July 2019. They had their first date on July 19th at the Phillips Avenue Dinner in Sioux Falls. Rob drove up to Sioux Falls to meet Kyra at the Sioux Empire Mall. It was over 105 degrees with humidity and Rob was outside working for the Vermillion Parks and Recreation Department. Kyra drove them downtown to the Phillips Avenue Dinner and they ordered food. Rob didn't eat anything and wasn't feeling very well. Little did he know he had the starting symptoms of heat exhaustion. After supper, they were going to walk around Falls Park but it was hot and Rob didn't feel well. Instead, they decided to drive around in Kyra's car. As they were driving down by Miller Funeral Home, Rob said he thought he was going to puke. Kyra slowed down and Rob puked out the window. They then proceeded to get a car wash. They've been together ever since. Rob proposed to Kyra at the same spot where he threw up over four and a half years later.

Kyra and Madisen met during their freshman year at USD while both pursuing degrees in Biology. They roomed together during their sophomore year of college. There were some tense moments during that year. During the end of their junior year they became closer. Kyra and Madisen enjoy going out together with Katrina and having a good time! 

Madisen Prasek

According to Rob and Steve's parents they both met in tumbling class as youngsters, but they don't remember so that doesn't count. Instead, they met freshman year of high school when they both joined the debate team. They became best friends in their senior years while debating together. They roomed together in college and Rob was Steve's best man at his wedding.

Josie is Kyra's sister. Kyra and Josie have not always gotten along (like most sisters), but have always had each others backs. Josie has been living in Italy and came back for Kyra’s graduation from graduate school in May 2024. By chance she also got to be around for Kyra’s  engagement. A favorite memory Kyra has with Josie is when Josie got married and they got to spend time getting ready together.

Katrina and Kyra became friends over a crayon while their dad's were working out before kindergarten started. While they were not always close throughout school and had tried to make separate friends when moving to college, it didn't work out that way. Kyra and Katrina have become a lot closer over the years and now enjoy going out with Madisen and having a good time!
