Our Wedding

Kyra and Josh met during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic at an outdoor, socially distanced birthday party. Kyra thought she would only be in Vero Beach for a few months, and Josh thought he was just taking a break from studying for the CFA to hang out with friends. Josh introduced himself to Kyra, they chatted, and hit it off. But with no numbers exchanged, life continued on and the two did not see each other again for weeks. Until one day, out of the blue, Josh messaged Kyra, asking if she would be his plus one to a small wedding. Kyra said yes, not knowing that five years later, they would both be attending their own wedding to marry one another.

While we could not be more thrilled to have all of you joining us to celebrate our marriage, we are missing one very important person: Larry Fusan. Larry was Josh's dad, and he passed away in February of 2021 after a difficult battle with cancer. Larry was a down-to-earth, all-around class act of a human, and we miss him dearly. However, his legacy lives on through our fond memories of him and all the ways that Josh embodies his essence and spirit. While Larry wasn't much of a dancer, Josh promises he can pick up the slack on the dance floor and looks forward to showing off his moves on our big day!

Our Story

A note from Kyra

I have spent the past year living and working in rural Sierra Leone as a program manager to support the operational planning and opening of a maternal center of excellence. My time has been filled with so many highs and lows, amounting to an experience that I will always remember as both incredibly trying and also so incredibly formative. Amongst all the chaos, heartache, and suffering, I have also witnessed so much determination, joy, and connection generated from our collective efforts to expand health equity. For that, and all of the incredible people I had the opportunity to work alongside, I am forever grateful. Being part of work that requires creativity, resilience, and a commitment to something larger than oneself has been and will continue to be a throughline in my life. I feel so very fortunate to have found someone who understands this and it willing to stand beside me in my pursuits. Each and every day, Josh shows his love for me by embracing all the things I care about and choosing to join me in the journey, all the while, always reminding me to laugh, smile, and never forget just how remarkable life is. I will spend the rest of our lives trying to return this kind of love, commitment, and zeal for life.&nbsp; Cheers to Josh and all that he is, and all that we are together!

We recommend flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO) or Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) and renting a car to drive to Vero Beach. Both airports are about 1.5 hours away. Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) might be another good option for folks. It is about 45 minutes from Vero Beach and has direct flight options from Atlanta. Another great option is to fly directly to Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB). There are several direct flights on Breeze Airlines from smaller airports in the northeast that we would recommend exploring. From there, you could Uber to hotels.
