To appreciate how it all began, we need to take a look at the details. A place where we worked, cried, laughed, and most importantly, ate breadsticks.

Kyra worked at the Olive Garden (Yes, the finest Italian restaurant we have to offer) as a swiss-army knife. From hostess, to busser, to server, to bartender, and everything else. She was a part of the young team and brought a can-do attitude, a fire-cracker personality, and a wild card aspect which made her a social butterfly. What Kyra was going to do next, no one knew, but they knew it was going to be exciting and impressive.

Austin came to the Olive Garden seeking one thing: An escape from his previous kitchen job for a better life (money). Starting as a server he was clueless, humbled, and probably hired for the wrong position. He made sure to focus on his strengths to make it through his everyday. Listen more than you speak, and try to make the people around you smile.

On a particularly busy lunch one day, Kyra came barreling through from the kitchen to the restaurant with a large tray, overfilled. Austin thought of his talents, and asked "Is there anything I can do to help you right now?".

"Yes, get out of my way." She replied.

"What a woman" Austin thought.

They became friends through work, which typically just meant they went out drinking after shift. They spent some more time with each other and found mutual interests in music and food. Dancing and karaoke brought them closer.

Austin was never the loudest in the group, but he usually had a stupid comment, or a pun to throw in to try to make someone smile. They made Kyra laugh.

Kyra would get Austin involved and speak with him in mind to make sure she used her assertiveness to give everyone an opportunity. This made him feel cared for.

They left the Italian food scene for retail. Whether they came across hard times, or were advancing their careers, they always approached it with care for each other.

In February 2023, Austin proposed, and apparently it worked.
