Our story began where we both spend far too much time - at work. We have both worked at St. Louis Children’s Hospital for 10+ years, but our paths never crossed (or if they did, not at the right time!). If you know anything about nurses, we’re often shown our appreciation with pizza (leftover pizza for night shift), and that’s where our story began - with leftover pizza shared on a long weekend night shift.
That Monday morning, we both (unknowingly) went to get a well deserved breakfast/drink with our coworkers at Kingside Diner and were definitely surprised to see each other there. A good breakfast, a breakfast shot, and a lot of Facebook messages later, we knew there was something there. At Frisco Bar Room and Clementine’s a few days later, things really started to fall into place. It really seemed too good to be true from the very beginning, both of us waiting for the ‘shoe to drop’, but here we are, still waiting.
We were quickly compatible and soon to be inseparable. From post-work breakfasts to finding the best places to eat to countless sporting events (cardinals, blues, St. Louis city, and kickaroos included) to watching Love is Blind on the couch and taking Luna on so many walks, everything just clicked. It’s sometimes hard not to question why people couldn’t have come into your life sooner, but timing really is everything. Who knew that there could be a love like this?
