Lacey and Jacob met in early 2019 when they worked at the same restaurant, Lark A Fare, in Lawrence, KS.Jacob said that when he saw Lacey standing by the lockers that first day, he thought, "She's going to break your heart".Lacey's first words to Jacob, when he teased her for working too hard and making everyone else look bad, were "Well, step up."It was a match.They became friends and worked a lot of slow lunch shifts together, until eventually Lacey was able to drag Jacob's phone number out of him and they went on several dates involving walks in nature and hunting for mushrooms.
