Our favorite story to tell is how we met, because there are few instances that would have brought a boy from New York and a girl from Kansas together. In August of 2021, Lacey just graduated college at Emporia State and was returning to celebrate her friend's (Paige Montgomery) birthday. This weekend happened to be the same weekend that Owen and his friends drove from New York to spend a week with their friend (Noah Cole). Although they grew up playing online games for years, this is the first time they met in person. From the moment Owen walked through the door, we connected instantly and were able to spend time exploring Emporia and Kansas City while they were visiting. Time flew by that week, and Owen decided Kansas was so spectacular that he flew back a month later, and then had to move here 2 months afterwards. The following year was spent making many road trips back and forth from Kansas to New York, visiting 4 countries in Europe, countless date nights, several games of golf and a lot of fantastic memories. We decided that forever together was exactly how we wanted to spend our lives.
