Lacey and Connor have known each other for over 10 years. They met at Georgetown Lake, where Lacey's family has a cabin. She and Connor crossed paths when he was visiting dear family friends of the Zinke’s, the Kobers. Over the years, there have been many New Years, Fourth of July, and summer celebrations where Lacey and Connor got to know one another.

In 2021, they were sitting at the bonfire when Connor asked Lacey to be his date to his friend's wedding. (Thanks, Paden & Olivia!) She accepted, but only because she was going to be in the area for sorority recruitment and this "was not going to be a date." Well, that evening she was invited on a hike in November that would eventually turn into their first date.

With a borrowed backpack and assurance that it would be an easy hike, Lacey drove to Billings and Connor led them to a remote cabin in the woods. The story has a 'his & her' version (ask about it!), but both describe a fun weekend with friends playing their (now) favorite card game, Peanuts, into the wee hours of the morning.

A few weeks later, the Brawl of the Wild (a rivalry between the University of Montana and Montana State University dating back to 1897) meant another opportunity for Lacey and Connor to see each other. Lacey and Connor decided to “make things official” in Missoula that weekend, kicking off what will forever be a “house divided.”

Lacey and Connor dated long distance for the next eight months, traveling back and forth from Missoula to Billings. Lacey moved to Billings to start a job at St. Vincent Foundation in July of 2022, where Lacey and Connor continued to strengthen their relationship. The next two years were filled with hiking (yes, more hiking), trips to Red Lodge, Bozeman, and Missoula, football (Go Griz! …and, Cats!), Peanuts, cooking, dinner parties, and walks with Lottie Dah, their favorite German Wirehaired Pointer.

This summer, Connor proposed at one of their favorite places, the Z Swingin' K Barn, in Philipsburg, MT (Sound like a familiar spot?). The proposal kicked off one of their favorite weekends of summer, the Fourth of July. They celebrated with family and friends all weekend long.
