Our Story

We met the modern way—online through a dating app—while life had us on very different paths. At the time, Blake was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, and Laiken was in medical school.

Our first date was a hike at a local state park, where somewhere between the trails and conversation, we both knew this was something special.

As our relationship grew, so did the distance between us. We spent two years long-distance while Laiken completed her residency and Blake served as a Drill Sergeant. Though the miles were challenging, they strengthened our commitment and deepened our love.

When we were finally able to live in the same place, we cherished every moment together. After just six months of building a home side by side, Blake proposed at the top of a mountain while we were camping—an unforgettable moment that felt like the perfect beginning to our next adventure.
