PARKS & REC: Big Timber is only 1 hr 24 min from Gardiner, which is where the north entrance to Yellowstone Park is located. Or, head South to McLeod, MT where Lainey and Jacob live. You can visit Natural Bridge Falls for a nice view and short hike. There are several other great trails to hike in Sweet Grass County, which are part of Custer Gallatin National Forest. Big Timber Creek Falls is another option you can drive most of the way to.
FLY FISHING: Lainey absolutely loves fly fishing, and this is the perfect place to do it. The brown trout will be spawning! Try your hand on the Yellowstone or Boulder Rivers. For guided trips contact: https://bigtimberflyfishing.com/
HUNTING: There is an abundance of public land to hunt in the area. Bird season will be open and the beginning of archery season for elk is around the wedding. Check out the rules, especially if you are out of state.
