Jason and Lainie were each living bustling lives in Information Technology, thriving in each of our respective lives.
Through the course of a business merger and acquisition, Jason and Lainie were suddenly introduced to a daily working schedule together, along with their teams of respective specialists. It was due to this relationship of daily interaction that Jason and Lainie grew quickly familiar with each other, while keeping the interest of their respective business requirements and project scope close to the vest.
It was this personal passion for their individual work that eventually drove Lainie and Jason together on a personal level.
Differences in each of our business' goals of the overall scope of our project together led to a very impassioned email exchange, each of us representing our firm in what we thought was the best course of action.
Within Lainie's business management team, it was agreed she would take Jason out for coffee to discuss any lingering differences in a more personal setting, away from the stale offices, and to assure the success of the project goals for all parties involved.
Jason, of course, getting wind of this decision, had shown up early to the 'personal-setting business-professional-coffee-date', had ordered drinks for the both of them, and had secured an isolated table for the two to speak candidly and personally, to define and describe our work-related-passions, and to discuss all that would be required to continue on with our respective project timelines without killing each other.
What Lainie did not realize was that Jason already had his eyes on her, and what a perfect opportunity has just present itself to test the waters and find out if those feelings were mutual in any way.
Luckily for Jason they were indeed!
Two very quick years later things were flying by and Jason and Lainie had been inseparable. Jason's parents were planning a brief trip to NYC for a weekend and were staying at Jason and Lainie's apartment. Jason and Lainie arranged for a meeting of the parents, an introduction to new friends, and a start of new relationships with a visit to the home of Lainie's parents for a casual introduction and light dinner. The meeting between them all went off without a hitch and great memories were made.
Knowing that Jason's family does not make it up to NYC very often, he quickly and secretly thought out the details and planned a surprise request to ask Lainie to be his bride for life. Jason brought a hidden engagement and wedding ring in a pocket, with his parents in tow along for a beautiful day at the Bronx Zoo and their first trip to Peter Cooper Village. Lainie was running a bit late from work so Al and Roberta Klein met Mike and Barb Porter for the first time. The party of 6 hit it off immediately and discussed all manner of our various activities, careers, passions and hobbies.
With our scheduled dinner time approaching it was time to get out the door and make it to our table for dinner. It was during our family's first meeting and conversation together, with Lainie having a discussion with Jason's parents that proved to be the perfect cover, that Jason suddenly snuck up behind Lainie, got down on one knee in her parents living toom, sent a wink to his parents to not spoil the moment as they could clearly see what he was about to do.... And then asked Lainie if she marry him. The room filled with tears of joy, the dinner was a smashing success complete with Jason's dad stealing a fine goblet from the restaurant as a souvenir; the rest is history, and now you all are welcome to join us on our special day for our very anticipated wedding celebration!
