Thomas and Lakin met in the spring of 2022 while they were both attending Marshall University. At the time, Thomas was finishing up physical therapy school, and Lakin was wrapping up her bachelor’s degree, preparing for the move to Morgantown to begin medical school that summer.

Their first date was at Rocco’s, a familiar favorite. From there, things unfolded naturally—walks at the park, ice cream dates at Austin’s, and concerts with friends.

Not long after, Thomas headed back home to Charlotte for his clinical rotations, and they began a long-distance chapter of their relationship. With weekend visits, FaceTime calls, and lots of cheering each other on from afar, they made it work—and they officially started dating in October 2022.

Fast forward three years, and Thomas and Lakin are both in Charleston. Now, they're counting down the days until their small wedding in Italy, and the next big adventure: moving into their new house in Morgantown, where Lakin will begin her pediatric residency.

Although their wedding is anything but traditional, they can't wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you at the wedding shower!
