Austin and Lakyn met at one of their favorite places to spend their free time... the ball field. Austin was late to the game. Let's just say it wasn't a great first impression! Their small talk on the field was the only interaction they had with each other that day.

Two weeks later they would find themselves once again at the fields. They talked throughout the day, getting to know each other a little more.

Lakyn's birthday was just a few days later. Austin reached out to wish her a "Happy Birthday". They continued to talk to each other for the next several weeks until their next tournament. Lakyn and her friend Megan drove down to Kansas City on their own, but somehow ended up taking Austin back home to Fremont. He wanted to stay and watch their women's tournament and Lakyn agreed to take him from Kansas City to Fremont before going back to Sutton. If you ask her, this was the worst decision ever!

She was determined that she didn't want to be in relationship at the time, but her friend Megan convinced her to give Austin a chance. Lakyn finally gave in and the next thing you know, she was headed to Okoboji for a family vacation.

Two and a half years later they were engaged and the rest is to history!

As far as the proposal... I'll leave that story for Austin to share.
