Phil and Lana first connected in 2018 when Lana decided that she and her friend, Emmeline wanted to join the Georgia Southern Bass Fishing team. Though Phil and Lana's paths had crossed many times before, this was the first time they really noticed each other. Lana did not go on to join the bass fishing team but she did decide to let him take her fishing. Phil asked her on a date a few weeks later and that was that.
Phil graduated college in May of 2019 and set off on his first Montana adventure. Lana took an internship in Texas and they started what would be almost three years of long distance dating. After Graduation Lana joined Phil in Montana, although they lived two hours away and had to commute through Yellowstone National Park to see each other. Since then they've lived in Montana (3 times), Utah, West Virginia, and now Tennessee. They have loved every minute of their adventures across the country and the incredible memories they've made.
On November 1st, Phil told Lana they had dinner reservations in Knoxville with plans to go ring shopping the next day. Unbeknownst to Lana, Phil had an elaborate plan. On the way there there they got a text from the restaurant that they're reservation had been pushed back. Lana thought this was odd but didn't think much else of it. Then Phil told her he had a spot he wanted to show her in the mean time. He took her to the University of Tennessee Botanical Gardens. Still she thought this was odd but didn't think much of it. It wasn't till Lana turned around and saw Phil on one knee that she realized what was happening. Turns out he had the ring the whole time and the dinner reservation never existed! After she said yes they celebrated with their families (who Phil had brought into town without Lana knowing) and here we are!
