Turn Our Wedding Weekend into a Pacific Northwest Getaway
We’re so thrilled to be celebrating with you over Memorial Day weekend, the perfect time to turn this special occasion into a mini vacation! Whether you’re flying in for the first time or live just across the water, there’s so much to explore in this magical corner of Washington.
At the heart of our celebration is Heronswood Garden, our wedding venue and one of the true hidden gems of the Pacific Northwest. Originally a world-renowned botanical garden, Heronswood is now owned and lovingly maintained by the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe. The grounds are bursting with rare plants, vibrant blooms, and peaceful forested paths that feel like something out of a fairytale. You’ll have the chance to wander the gardens after the wedding, and trust us, you’ll want to take your time soaking in the beauty.
Just a short drive away is Poulsbo, a charming waterfront town often called “Little Norway” for its Scandinavian roots and adorable downtown. It’s the kind of place where you can grab a fresh pastry from Sluys Bakery, stroll along the boardwalk, pop into independent bookstores and boutiques, and enjoy waterfront dining or wine tasting, all in a single afternoon. It’s only 20 minutes from Kingston, and it’s one of our favorite places to visit when in the area.
Looking for adventure? Kingston is your gateway to Olympic National Park, one of the most awe-inspiring and diverse national parks in the U.S. If you’re up for a scenic drive, you’ll find alpine hikes, misty rainforests, hot springs, and coastal beaches. Even if you can’t fit in the full park, Olympic National Forest, Hood Canal, and Point No Point Lighthouse offer incredible natural beauty just 30–60 minutes away.
For a more laid-back pace, Kingston itself is full of small-town charm. Take a walk around the marina, browse local shops, or explore nearby Port Gamble, a historic town frozen in time with antique shops, cafes, and gorgeous water views.
And don’t forget, you’ll be visiting during Memorial Day weekend, which means extra time off, long daylight hours, and the perfect excuse to take time to relax and soak up the wonders of Washington.
We truly can’t wait to celebrate with you, in the gardens, by the sea, and surrounded by trees.
