Madison and Landon met in November 2016 over queso, hard cider, and trivia at O'Connell's Pub in Norman, OK, while at the University of Oklahoma. This was not by coincidence, as the couple had a shared friend, Maggie, who played matchmaker that night.
They spent the next few months going on dates in Norman and OKC. On Jan. 1, 2017, Landon traveled to Dallas, where Madison was spending NYE, to ask her to be his girlfriend.
Madison graduated May 2017 from OU and moved to OKC for her first job. Thus began the couple's 5-year love story in long-distance dating. It was around this time that Landon and Madison would say I love you for the first time, and when they would both decide they wanted to marry each other!
The next year would be full of weekends at OU football games and exploring downtown OKC. Landon graduated May 2018 from OU and moved to New Orleans for his first job. Madison is a big fan of New Orleans, and she spent many weeks visiting. The couple attended their first Mardi Gras parades in Feb. 2020, right before Covid-19 started.
Madison moved to Houston, TX, in May 2020 to be closer to Landon in New Orleans. The next year would be a quick blur as Landon moved back temporarily to Edmond, OK, and the couple would spend weeks at a time quarantining together in either Edmond, Houston, or New Orleans.
Starting Aug. 2022, Madison and Landon finally got to be in the same city when they moved to Boston, MA, together! Landon started his MBA program at Harvard Business School and Madison started a new job in Boston.
They returned to Oklahoma for the holiday break and Madison and Landon got engaged in a sweet and special setting on Dec. 27, 2022. Landon took Madison ice skating at Myriad Gardens in OKC (one of the first dates they went on six years ago) and proposed to Madison under twinkling Christmas lights. Madison was so excited when Landon dropped down to one knee. The couple celebrated over steak and champagne with family and friends at Red Steakhouse (where the couple has celebrated every anniversary).
Cheers to the future. The best is yet to come!
