Colors: Yellow, Red, Orange, Green The haldi ceremony is a significant pre-wedding event and ritual in almost every Indian regional wedding. It is celebrated on the wedding day or one day prior to the wedding day and is usually a close-knitted event. The closest family, relatives and friends come together on this auspicious occasion to apply turmeric paste (haldi) on the bride and groom's face and body. Some families also smear chandan (sandalwood powder) with rose water on the bride's face and hands and shower flowers on the couples. The occasion is celebrated with dhol (drum beats), Bollywood songs and endless dancing.

Mehndi, otherwise known as henna, is a paste associated with positive spirits and good luck. Indian Wedding tradition calls for a Mehndi ceremony to be held the night before (or in this case two nights before) the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage. The Mehndi Ceremony is organized by the Bride’s family bringing together the female components of each side.

A Sangeet is a celebratory event during an Indian wedding translating to Music Night or Musical party. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families. You can choose to wear traditional Indian attire, or American traditional attire..your choice! The Groom usually comes in on a horse to start the festivities. If you choose to wear traditional Indian- Please refrain from wearing greens, or pinks.
