FAQ

What is the dress code?

Cocktail attire, but please dress for warmth during the outdoor ceremony! In case you're curious, the wedding party will be wearing navy blue with dark green and gold accents.

How cold will it be?

Super! (Anticipated to be 32˚F, 0˚C) The ceremony is outdoors, so bundle up! It will be sunset-golden hour when we begin the ceremony. However, the reception will be indoors and is likely to get toasty once the dancefloor gets going. We will have hot chocolate and s'mores to keep you all warm!

What shoes should I wear?

The parking will be on gravel/pavement, the ceremony will be on grass, the cocktail hour will be on wood floors, and the reception will be indoors on red brick. There will be dancing during the reception, but the floor will still be brick.

Do I need cash for the bar?

All drinks (wine/hard cider only) are included, but tips for the bartender/staff are encouraged!

Is there public or provided transportation to the venue?

No, but Uber & Lyft are generally very reliable in this area.

Where should I park?

There is ample parking on site, close to the event space. You should park on the gravel lot directly across from the white house when you turn into the property. The other lot is for the winery & tasting room and is not where the wedding will be.

Is there a hotel block?

We decided not to do a hotel block, but anywhere in proximity to Dulles International Airport is a reasonable distance to the venue.

Are phones allowed at the wedding?

Yes! Please keep them on silent and close to you so as to not be visible in the official photography, but we encourage pictures and would LOVE to see them after!

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

Yes! Make sure to get our good side :)

Will there be a livestream?

Unfortunately not, but if there are any videos, we will be glad to share them with you after the fact.

What are some fun things to do in Virgina?

Go to DC and see the Christmas Markets, the National Monuments Ice Skating Rink, or any of the incredible Smithsonian museums! (Our favorite one is the Air & Space Museum, but the Natural History Museum's geosciences part is also awesome.) Let us know if you need dining recommendations!

What is the secret to happiness?

Chill cookie dough for at least 24 hours before baking.
