How we met

Picture of How we met

We first met while attending college at Eastern Washington University. We got connected through Larissa’s roommate who was also Evan’s lab partner. Friendships grew through study sessions and game nights! We had our first date at the Fairchild Airshow where Evan shared his knowledge of airplanes. We then decided to continue the date at Northwest Seed and Pet when we adopted “Leo”, the very pretty wandering plant who continues to spread the love!

Our First Summer

Both Evan and Larissa continued their studies over the summer at Eastern Washington University. We were both very driven to finish our education, most of our dates consisted of studying in the JFK library or Showalter Hall. Larissa was finishing her Secondary Math Education Degree, while Evan was finishing his electrical engineering degree. Funny enough we had one class together over the summer, differential equations, and to no one’s surprise Larissa got a better grade than Evan. We also spent a lot of time hammocking outside of Showalter Hall. It was at that time we learned that squirrels do not suffer from fall damage.

While everyone was away for the summer we did almost everything together from boating on the lake with Evan’s family to shopping for groceries. We had lots of fun learning about each other through cooking dinners, helping others, and attending summer events. Before school picked back up we took a road trip together through Montana. It was our first time going to Glacier National Park!

Post Graduation

Post-graduation was a whirlwind for us! We both successfully completed our degrees, planned to move to Central Washington to start our first careers, and were preparing to become first-time parents! We got our first glimpse of the near future while trying to potty train our new puppy Lunabelle.

Evan worked through the changes of working from home in our new apartment while Larissa met new coworkers at a middle school in Wenatchee. We spent most of our time working hard and soaking up all the new information a new career brings. We liked taking Sunday drives to explore our new home and tried to find time to make it home to see our families! We spent lots of time exploring the beautiful Leavenworth and surrounding mountains.

When January rolled around, Theodore expanded our family! We spent the next few months learning all about being parents to a newborn baby boy.

Moving Home

After having Theodore, we spent time deciding what was best for our family going forward. Larissa wanted most to stay home and raise him which meant finding a new home. We decided to move to the farm in Chewelah where we knew it would bring us joy! Evan had always wanted to live in the country somewhere. Luckily Evan was able to continue working from home.

We have had so much fun reaching for our goals of a happy and healthy family this past year! So far our favorite time of year is gardening time, when we get to be outside working to grow our own fresh food! We have been able to visit with family and friends often while also staying home and enjoying watching Theodore grow.

We are so excited to continue making memories as a family!
