Our Story

Just When We Thought We Gave Up.....

I had just received a promotion at work and Larry was the new maintenance employee. One day I was riding around with Jeremy (maintenance) who now is one of our best friends and he asked me " Soo....What do you think of Ol' Larry?" I looked at him and explained that I didn't want to get romantically involved with someone at work and I had also given up on love at this point, and he dropped the subject. The next week I had to observe the maintenance men working on a big project. That's really when I noticed how handsome Larry was. He was sweaty and dirty, his shirt was exposing just enough chest to make me sweat. I also noticed he had a beautiful cross around his neck which told me he loved God. At that moment I started crushing on him a bit. A week or so of casual flirting went by during which I was trying to figure out a way to tell him I was interested without being unprofessional, so I started with a friend request on FB thinking that it would open up a message. (Surely he would hit on me, right?) He excepted!! Well, I waited....and waited...and waited... NOTHING! Normally I'm not one to make the first move but I could tell this one was either stubborn or just not interested. (I wasn't aware he was interested until later when I heard his side of our love story.) So, I swallowed my pride and fear of rejection and messaged him. My message: " Nice hair today. I'm going to remove the horn from your cart." (Earlier that day he snuck up behind me and blarred the horn giving me a heart attack.) Of course that day he was riding his motorcycle and didn't get the message until 3 hours later! His response: " My bad hun, Just seen your message. Been on the bike since I left work. I got them jerry curls." The conversation didn't last too long, it was late. The next day we talked for 6 hours on FB and he finally asked me to go to his heaven on earth, his grandmother's farm where he also proposed to me 11 months later. Larry and I wanted to give up on love, we had made peace with it but God had a better plan for us. We found our home through him and each other.
