This all started with an organic friendship and gospel-centered conversations. From day one, we found it easy to continue our pursuits of Christ, as we were both encouraged by the other's faith. While dating, we were part of the church community and sought out wise counsel, bringing other believing brothers and sisters to speak into our relationship. Now, here we are a little over a year into our relationship - engaged and looking towards marriage. As we grow closer to the beautiful Sacrament of Matrimony, we desire for our love and marriage to be one that prays and praises, glorifying the Lord and His kindness in our daily lives. As expressed in the Second Vatican Council, the Sacrament of Matrimony renews the natural institution of marriage and elevates it so that it shares in a love larger than itself. Saint Thomas Aquinas once describes love as “the choice to will the good of the other”. Marriage, then, is nothing less than a participation in the covenant between Christ and the Church, thus presenting a love that is sacrificial, self-less, and glorifying to the Lord. That is and has been our goal and greatest desire from the very beginning of our relationship. We are so excited to celebrate this beautiful Sacrament together with all our friends and family, and we look forward to the life God has in store for us.
