Laura & John

Date To Be Announced • Cohasset, MA
Dan Farrell
Dan Farrell - Best Man
John and Dan met in 8th grade in Science class. Dan was coming back from the nurse and was told by Mr. Fisher to sit with John. John looked up and said “pshhh…look at this nerd with the helmet of hair gel that moves as one solid piece.” Dan looked at John and said “pshhh…look at this nerd with the glasses”. And from that day on, the two nerds were friends. They danced their way through show choir, sang their way through musicals and won the hearts of very few girls in their high school years. They became slightly cooler in college (Dan sang a capella and John sang to anybody who would listen). One could even say that once out of college, they actually became cool. Sadly, we haven’t found that one person who says that yet. Though Dan moved to New York, they remain the best of friends.
Elizabeth Boback
Elizabeth Boback - Maid of Honor
The Bride's sister, Liz was an easy choice for MOH. Laura has known Liz her entire life, that's the benefit of being family. Growing up together they have experienced everything together- summers in Truro and family vacations to Maine, Aruba, and Hawaii. Laura has followed in Liz's footsteps going to the same schools and even sharing some of the same roommates (thanks Erin Kelly for putting up with both of us even though we're polar opposites). Liz was a natural choice for Maid of Honor being my only sister and longest friend.
Christine Letsche
Christine Letsche - Bridesmaid
Christine AKA Letschy AKA the matchmaker. Our friendship is all thanks to NDA and the Bride stalking Letschy in the freshman locker room and forcing a friendship that has lasted about 15 years- scary. Not only is Lestchy one of Laura's closest friends, her birthday party is where Laura and John met back in 2014. Letschy and Laura share a love for all things country music through better and worse. Letschy has been there through it all, always being the sound voice of reason and one of the most reliable, loyal friends.
Chris Ilacqua
Chris Ilacqua - Groomsman
John and Chris are friends from high school. They have remained close friends since their days of singing in choir. Their friendship grew stronger through walks to the Plant Depot (RIP) for ice cream and slushies in the summer of 2002. Both rather competitive people, Chris decided to one up John in most ways in life. From being cooler, to going to a better college, to becoming a doctor or something like that. John finally won something by getting engaged first, but no one is keeping score or anything. Currently living in Philly, he is also sorely missed by the groom, but John will keep trying to convince Chris that Philadelphia is not a real city and that he should come back to Boston.
Megan Walsh
Megan Walsh - Bridesmaid
Meg is one of Laura's best friends from college. Meg and Laura met in an ethics class and became quick friends (despite Meg realizing Laura was a dork, proclaiming to the entire class something interesting about Laura is her love or animal fun facts). Through class and then living in the same dorm Meg and Laura became inseparable. From being stranded during Nemo and movie watching (crying through Hunger Games and sleeping through Beaches) to driving back and forth from Boston to RI after graduation their friendship only strengthened. Meg is always there for a good laugh and crazy adventure.
Josh Wainwright
Josh Wainwright - Groomsman
Josh Wainwright. Another groomsman. Another high school friend. It’s like they all did the same activity. Like some singing and some synchronized choreographed dancing. Josh the guy with the pool, so John made sure to actually be friends with this guy. Turned out Josh was pretty fun to hangout with even in wintertime without the use of his pool. They grew closer throughout, and after, college as two of the guys who remained in Easton for a long time after high school. Typical townies, they went to some of the same bars as Laura and her Stonehill friends, though no one ever met each other as far as we know. Their love of sports, country music, karaoke, and line dancing formed and unbreakable bond. John even got to be a groomsman for Josh, so yeah...they’re buds.
Steve Twiraga
Steve Twiraga - Groomsman
Another of John’s high school friends, their friendship harkensback to the early days of 8th grade when John met Steve and thought to himself “who is the 35 year old in my junior high math class”. Amazingly Steve still looks 35. Luckily for him, he soon will be. The two-time All-State musician has always been a close friend and confidant since those early days of choir/musicals. Like most of John’s high school friends he moved away, going to school in Washington D.C. After school he did something few high school friends-turned-groomsman have done, he returned to Massachusetts. With a family of his own, Steve tries to rope John into helping him do manual labor at his house. One day, John may actually help.
Emily Martin
Emily Martin - Bridesmaid
Emily is John's youngest sister. Laura met Emily right before her High School graduation. Emily and her friends happened to go to the same restaurant Laura and John were at for a date early on. Emily came over and started chatting with us. Since then we have traveled the world together on family vacations. Emily, an avid horse lover and owner has encouraged my love of horses making sure we always try to incorporate riding horses wherever we are- Grand Cayman to Missouri. Being Laura's defacto "hype girl" will surely help her with the upcoming bridesmaids duties.
Tommy Mulcahy
Tommy Mulcahy - Groomsman
Tommy is the first non-high school friend on the list. He is the very-soon-to-be husband of Ashley, one of John’s closest and oldest female friends. They bonded over the fact that they both liked soccer and were fun to party with, but then they discovered that they’re both not-so-secret nerds. With a common love of Marvel, Star Wars and Game of Thrones, just to name a few things, they found in each other a kinship neither knew was needed in their lives. They tend to go to a lot of those movies together and even let Laura and Ashley tag along from time to time.
Caitlin Broderick
Caitlin Broderick - Bridesmaid
Caitlin is Laura's newest BFF thanks to DB (aka David, also see groomsman). Laura and DB became friends at Stonehill, after graduation he started dating Caitlin and eventually they got married (although I still constantly refer to her as Caitlin Fowler). Caitlin and Laura have shared skiing excursions from the east coast to Colorado, low key nights in and everything in between. Caitlin is also the number one drill sergeant for all things fitness and is trying to get Laura to love dogs by continually exposing her to Nala. Laura and Caitlin are two peas in a pod, I'm so thankful DB found her and now Caitlin gets to be part of my life forever.
Peter McDade
Peter McDade - Groomsman
The only groomsman to actually live with John, Peter and John have had a lifetime of adventures in a short period of time knowing one another. They’ve played many a videogame, watched many a movie and have even made a trip down to West Virginia, where couches were burned and epic parties were thrown, despite them knowing about three people in the area. They’ve become more like brothers throughout their friendship, even after Peter moved out west to Worcester, married, and started a family. An early champion of John and Laura being together, Peter is even part of the reason John and Laura met in the first place. Though they don’t see each other as much as they would like to, they keep in touch pretty constantly. John knows Peter is probably drinking a beer while reading this. Guessing it may be something from Treehouse? Whatever it is, it’s probably good.
Erin Kelly
Erin Kelly - Bridesmaid
Little did we know, when we were placed as neighbors in the Sem (Stonehill's Freshman dorm) that we would become eventual roommates and the best of friends. Erin is the sweetest person Laura knows and has a heart as big as can be. I'm really glad we didn't continue ignoring each other from when we were 2 of 3 people living on upper B during preseason. Our friendship has survived wearing rival jerseys to every sports game we've ever attended together. Erin is also John's second girlfriend for any game of thrones or musical activity Laura doesn't want to be John's plus one for (thanks for always saving me from these!)
Katie Austin
Katie Austin - Bridesmaid
Katie Austin and Laura met in an education class at Stonehill when indecisive Laura was still trying to find a major. Katie was forced to sit with Laura and some other Sem girls. Ever since then Katie has been an honorary member of the Sem. They say high adrenaline situations create stronger bonds, we have a yellow light to thank for our friendship. From strangers forced to go to a PTO meeting together, long distance BFFs, to temporary roommates (with Laura and John) Laura and Katie have been through it all together. I'm lucky to have a best friend, my own personal therapist, and a bridesmaid all wrapped up into one.
David Broderick
David Broderick - Groomsman
One of John’s newest friends, he’s actually a friend of Laura's from Stonehill. But through their mutual love of gin , IPAs, videogames, and making fun of Laura they have become fast friends. The husband of Bridesmaid Caitlin, David and John both get to suffer through the friendship that is Laura and Caitlin. But secretly they enjoy it, because they get to suffer together...with beer. They also bonded through watching the McGregor/Mayweather fight together on John's iPhone at a hotel in Portland, while drinking scotch after the ladies had gone to bed.
Elizabeth Martin
Elizabeth Martin - Bridesmaid
Elizabeth is John's younger sister. Elizabeth and Laura met later the same day as meeting Emily. While Laura and John started dating Elizabeth was away at school in West Virginia. Since her graduation Laura and Elizabeth have been able to spend more time together, and have bonded over their mutual love for the Cape. Elizabeth and Laura have experienced a lot together and Elizabeth still puts up with my loud personality.
Scott Durocher
Scott Durocher - Groomsman
Another one of John's newest friends, Scott is one of Laura's closest friends from Stonehill. Much like with David, bonding occurred over drinks, parties, their love of the Celtics, and making fun of Laura. They've gone to quite a few concerts (most notably Kyle, because he's Super Duper) and tend to sing a lot of songs together, from T Swift to Disney to Lukas Graham. You can catch Scott out on the dance floor.
Peter Lagana
Peter Lagana - Usher
Pete is John’s brother, and the Usher for the wedding. Sadly, he lives in Florida so John doesn’t get to visit Pete as often ashe would like to, but is super excited to have him be a part of his wedding. John is looking forward to having a fruity drink with Peter, as he's of legal drinking age now and like their mother, John loves fruity drinks, so he's thinking his brother probably does too!
