Q + A

What should I wear?

The dress code is semi-formal and fully vaccinated :)

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

The ceremony is in the rose garden of Antrim 1844. Guests at the cocktail hour may walk around the formal gardens and inside the mansion. The reception will be in the ballroom.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside. The reception will be inside.

What happens after the ceremony?

Right after the ceremony, the bridal party and family will be taking pictures for about an hour. Guests will be served hors d’oeuvres and drinks both inside the mansion and outside in the formal gardens, and there will be a charcuterie display in the dining room of the hotel.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

You will be missed! If you can’t make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

We have a hotel block for guests at Antrim 1844. To get the special rate, mention the Chappell-Sullivan wedding when you call to make your reservation. There are also many accommodation options in Gettysburg, which is about 15 minutes away from Taneytown.

Will food be served at the reception?

Yes. Hors d’ourves will be served during the cocktail hour, and the reception will have a formal plated dinner.

Will there be any vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free meal options?

Yes. Please note that you would like the vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free meal on your RSVP card along with any dietary restrictions any guests may have.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

During the ceremony, we’d prefer it if your phone is turned off so everyone can enjoy the moment! We have an amazing photographer who will be there to capture every moment, and we don’t want any of the photos to feature guests blocking the photographer’s shot. However, we’d love to see all of your pictures of the reception after the ceremony, so please feel free to post them with our wedding hashtag!

What should I know about the wedding and COVID-19?

In light of recent events with the omicron variant, this event is open to vaccinated guests (boosters encouraged but not required). The ceremony and cocktail hour are outside, but the reception is inside, and we encourage guests to wear masks unless they are sitting down at their table or eating. We’ll provide hand sanitizer and masks to anyone who needs them.

What are the dining options for my child?

There is a kid’s meal option available.

Can I bring a date or a friend?

Please refer to the names on your invitation for details.
