Kyle and I are so excited to share our special day with you! Please know that you are welcome to participate in any or all of the wedding events below. Some of you may chose to be with us all day long, others may choose only to attend the ceremony, still others may chose to swing by at the reception, or greet us as we exit the temple after our sealing. Look at the options, and plan on whatever works best for you! Make sure to RSVP so we know what to plan on too :)

Kyle and I met at a Multi-Stake Fireside on Sunday, August 21, 2022, that focused on our relationships with God as children of God and featured the Bonner Family.&nbsp;We made eye contact across the chapel and I realized he was someone I wanted to talk to, so once the fireside was over I made my way over to him, tapped him on the shoulder and started a conversation.&nbsp;Within about 5 minutes it became clear we were looking for very similar qualities in a spouse-- gospel-centered, attractive and kind/ safe.&nbsp;I remember thinking "Wow!&nbsp;Could it really be that simple?"&nbsp;Several other friends of mine came over and I thought Kyle would just leave, but he stuck around until all my friends had left, got my number, and asked me on a date!&nbsp;&nbsp;

How We Met

We went to Zupas on September 3rd and I thought things went well, but I guess I came off as a little conceited, so he didn't ask me out again.&nbsp;I was so excited to have met someone who actually read the scriptures every day!&nbsp;When he hadn't reached out a week or so after our first date, I invited him to a Ukrainian Benefit Concert one of my Mission friends had organized.&nbsp;His sister was getting married that day (October 8, 2022), so he said he couldn't come, but asked me to join him for some ice skating later on!&nbsp;That was the date where we both really hit it off!&nbsp;&nbsp;My heart really fell for him when he took my hand for the first time on our third date-- I was surprised to feel so many sparks for him all at once!&nbsp;

First - Third Date

When we started dating, the following scripture sort of became our theme scripture: 1 Nephi 8:11“ And it came to pass that I did go fourth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted. Yea, and I beheld that the fruit thereof was white, to exceed all whiteness that I had ever seen.” It continues in verse 12:“And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy…” as well as 1 Nephi 11:21 And the angel said unto me: Behold the Lamb of God, yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father! Knowest thou the meaning of the tree which thy father saw?22 And I answered him, saying: Yea, it is the love of God, which sheddeth itself abroad in the hearts of the children of men; wherefore, it is the most desirable above all things.23 And he spake unto me, saying: Yea, and the most joyous to the soul. I think that's what we both really want-- to continuously partake of that fruit. I think that is something that we love most about each other-- we love goodness, kindness, love unfeigned, longsuffering, patience, humility-- everything that charity is, and we are committed to following Christ in pursuit of this perfect love. Something else we love about us is that we want to keep coming closer to each other and to our Heavenly Parents and Jesus Christ.&nbsp;&nbsp;I had been writing down the times when I felt joy in my life each morning as part of my scripture study since turning 32 on August 27, 2022, and I noticed that Kyle became a greater and greater source of joy in my life. That's how I realized I wanted to marry him-- it came to me gradually, as the rising sun-- my conviction and desire slowly but surely getting brighter and brighter.&nbsp;

Dating

He proposed on the last day of the school year. We had been planning on doing something relaxing like watching a movie, and Kyle rarely deviates from our plans spontaneously, so I was immediately suspicious when he asked if I wanted to go to a park because it "wasn't raining just then". We went to my favorite park (Hidden Valley in Sandy), and I asked him if he wanted to walk around, do a hike, or find somewhere to sit down. When he asked me to show him the lookout spot I had shown him last time we were here, my suspicions were as good as confirmed. I thought I might be nervous, but I really didn't have a doubt in my mind that I wanted to marry Kyle. We got to the lookout spot, sitting on a boulder with the valley spread out beneath us. Kyle pulled out a long list of things he loves about me and went through them one by one. It was so sweet!&nbsp;Then he asked if he could take a picture of me with the view and after he had done so, he said "Stay there! There's one more thing I want to do." He started to pull something out of his pocket, then he said "I don't want to wait any longer!" He pulled out the ring, knelt down and asked me to marry him!&nbsp;&nbsp;Kyle and I so excited to start our new lives together as man and wife!

Kyle and I really want our wedding on October 7th to bring friends and family together in love and unity. Come bring a snack to share and get a handle on all the fun dances we'll do so you can really enjoy them the day of the wedding! Food

Should I go to the sealing if I do not have a temple recommend?If you do not have a temple recommend, you are still welcome to come to the Draper Temple and wait for us in the temple waiting room or on the temple grounds. Kyle and I will be exiting the temple at about 4:45 PM, at which point we will greet and take pictures with whomever is present. That said, we don't want you to feel obligated to wait outside the temple. The majority of family and wedding party photos will be taken after the wedding ceremony at the Capitol in SLC, so don't worry about needing to be at the temple for pictures! Which parts of the wedding am I invited to?You are invited to all parts of the wedding! If you did not receive an insert in your invitation for the sealing, we will not be able to accommodate you inside the temple for that, but you are still welcome to come and greet us as we exit the temple and for the light meal to follow. It is a long day and there is a lot going on, so feel free to pick and choose whichever events work best for you and your family. Just be sure to RSVP so we know how many people to expect at each event. What if I didn't learn the music or dances?You are welcome at our wedding no matter what! We appreciate listeners and viewers just as much as singers and dancers. Just come and have fun! Can I bring spouse, children and/or a plus one?Absolutely! Just make sure you let us know how many to expect when you RSVP. Is the reception open-house style?Although you are free to come and go as you please, we would love to have you join us for the entire evening. See the "Programs" tab for more information.
