Q + A

How do I RSVP? And when do I need to RSVP by?

we will be collecting RSVPs digitally via the "RSVP" tab of this website. please make sure to RSVP as soon as you possibly can, as it will help us immensely with planning!

Do you have a gift registry?

yes! it is available on the "Registry" tab of this website.

Is there a dress code?

festive cocktail! think formal, but fun. :)

Can I bring a date?

when you receive your invitation, if it says “and Guest,” or your partner's name, then yes. if not, we would prefer if it was just you. please do not take offense to this! we are blessed to have a ton of wonderful people in our life, and we want to make sure to prioritize our close loved ones.

Can I bring my kids?

we love your kids—we really do. but we are asking that this be an adults-only celebration.

Where should I stay?

both the ceremony and the reception will be taking place in the French Quarter, which is very historical and walkable. in fact, driving and parking in the French Quarter is actually quite difficult. if you prefer to see other parts of the city or stay further away from what can sometimes be a busy, more tourist-heavy neighborhood, we recommend looking in the Marigny, Bayou Saint John, the Lower Garden District, or the Central Business District. we have reserved limited hotel blocks at three hotels in the French Quarter. we've also made a list of other hotels you may want to consider based on your style and/or budget. all of this information is on the "Accommodations" tab. just one note on safety: while new orleans is a remarkably special place, many people in the city are struggling and safety can be an issue. we just ask that you move with care and awareness about where you are. again, if you'd like one of us to double check that a place that you've found is well-located, do not hesitate to send it our way!

Will there be a shuttle from the hotel to ceremony?

the hotels we've reserved blocks with are all about a twenty minute walk from the ceremony location and about a five minute walk from the reception location. because the interior of the French Quarter does not allow large buses, we are asking guests to find their own way to the ceremony and home from the reception. we will all parade together from the ceremony to the reception, though!

What is a second line?

second lining is a quintessential New Orleans art form and tradition. second lines are used both to honor community members who have passed on and celebrate couples who are beginning their new life together. it's both a celebration and a release. it's playful and it's healing. it's a deeply rooted practice that we are honored to be able to experience with you! if you are not up for parading on foot, that is totally fine! just meet us at Napoleon House, but please do not arrive before 6:00pm.
