We met through a mutual friend in high school in 2005 at a friend's deer lease that winter. We were dancing around the fire pit, and I ran into Thomas A.K.A “Tommy”. We both felt something might be there. We began to be good friends in High school and then went off to college in College Station together. We started dating for awhile in college and then went our separate ways, but we always stayed close friends. I felt Tommy had never given up on us. He was always around for all the support I needed, the tough times and good times. Then, in 2020, when the pandemic was happening, Tommy appeared again in my life. We went to the ranch as friends and felt like we were reconnecting again to where I felt, wow, I have feelings for this man. When he left to return home from the ranch, I felt there could be more to this than just being friends. So I texted him the day he left the Ranch, saying hey, I have feelings for you and am not sure if you feel the same way and he responded Laura, I have feelings for you too, and let’s try this out. So that’s how our relationship begin and has grown so much.

How Thomas proposed:

On August 4th, Tommy had made some plans that night in our new city, Oklahoma City. We had a boat tour on the Brick Town canal. Well, as our night started, I got all dressed up and ready to go out to have a good date night, but then Tommy and I got stuck in the elevator for almost two hours in our apartment complex. The firefighters had tried to pry open the elevator but couldn’t do it, so they had to get us from the top ceiling of the elevator to get us out. Once out off the elevator, we finally made it to our boat tour on the canal and dinner. After dinner, we went to a speakeasy bar for a drink, and Tommy wanted to take me somewhere for a walk. So we walked toward the canal, where there were pretty lights and artwork. Tommy told me how beautiful I looked and how much he loved me. As I was like, thank you and love you too! Then he got down on his knee and proposed to me and said yes! It was the best night to remember, even though we got stuck in an elevator, but it turned into the best night of my life!
