Are you really getting married in less than a month?
Yes! We were trying to coordinate Timmy's mom's visit from Florida at first so we booked the room month's ago at the community center before all the COVID restrictions let up. We weren't sure if it would work out, but now we are sure.
Are you crazy????
Probably. Anyone that knows Laura knows how much of a planner she has always been. One of the things that is so wonderful about Timmy is how spontaneous and free-spirited Timmy is. This has helped Laura to let go quite a bit of control and let life just happen and see how things play out. At the same time, Timmy plans a little bit more now. Its a nice balance that we have with each other.
Do we have to get you something from off your wedding registry?
No! In fact, you don't have to get us anything. If you choose to get us something, it doesn't even have to be the exact item on the registry. It could be something similar. If you find a better deal somewhere, get it!
Why are there "experiences" on your registry?
Timmy and Laura both value moments and memories over material things. Obviously, we can't cook on zip-lining or hot air balloon rides, but you don't usually put pots and pans in a scrapbook either.
Townsend? I thought Timmy's last name was Sorghardt?
True! At the moment of creating this website, Timmy's last name is Sorghardt. Timmy has made a thoughtful decision to change his name to his mother's maiden name. He is not very close with his father and the family he is closest to is from the Townsend line. We are taking this opportunity to change together as both Laura and Timmy will be legally changing their names to Townsend after the wedding.
Is this a shotgun wedding?
At this time, no, but who knows what will happen in a month! LOL
Are you happy?
All four of us are very happy about the decision to officially join together as family.
Do you need help with anything?
Probably! Check in with Laura and ask if there is anything you can do.
Day of Questions
What should we wear to the wedding?
This is NOT your average formal wedding. The ceremony will be outside...in August. Wear sundresses, khakis, casual/dressy picnic type attire. Don't forget sunglasses. But we won't be there long. We then move inside to a climate controlled room.
What if it rains?
Then we will move the ceremony from the Wetlands straight to the community center where the reception is being held. The backdrop isn't as pretty but it won't matter as long as we are together.
If the wedding is outside, are there bathrooms nearby?
Yes! The visitor center onsite has bathrooms and they are kept pretty clean.
