Our Story
Now, this is a story all about how
Our lives got flipped-turned upside down
And we’d like to take a minute
Just sit right there (okie)
We’ll tell you how we became a couple in a city called Skokie
In the North Shore, Laura was born and raised
Hanging out with her family, where she spent most of her days
Chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’, all cool
And taking swimming lessons at the local pool
When a guy went up to her who liked her style
Started talking to her using his wits and guile
It took all of senior year for Laura & Rexly to date
And off they went to different colleges thinking it was too late
But through all the laughter, smiles and tears
Their relationship stayed strong throughout the years
They went on grand adventures like trips to national parks
But even doing the mundane they felt the sparks
They built a life and moved in together
Laura became a nurse and Rexly, a lawyer
After some time, 9 years to be exact
Rexly was struck with a great idea, he had to act
He realized Laura was his partner, the love of his life
Maybe he ought to ask her to be his wife
Laura said YES! Thank goodness she did
Rexly was nervous, just a smidge
The date was set, the wedding underway
And I think we’ve shared enough for today
We can’t wait for our friends and family to celebrate our journey
From a highschool crush to getting married at thirty
