The summer of 2015 Joel and Laura met through a dating app. Yes, this is a very modern age romance lol After getting to know each other for a couple months, on 10/29/15 Joel decided he needed to take this woman off the market and made it official by asking her to be his girlfriend. She said yes.

Joel and Laura took a day trip to Laura's Alma Mater for her birthday weekend. Laura used her connections to surprise Joel with a meet and greet with former Cal football star and current NFL player Marshawn Lynch. Just kidding, he was randomly doing a meet and greet at the student store lol Made for a memorable trip though!

Day trip to San Luis Obispo and visited the very "sanitary" gum wall.

Joel competed in his first Spartan race at Big Bear. Spoiler, he broke his ankle before he crossed the finish line. Ouch!

Day trip to Morro Bay

We're engaged! Joel proposed to Laura on a weekend getaway to the bay area. He got down on one knee in front of this beautiful lakeside view in the bay.

Family trip to Paso Robles. Joel and Laura were able to celebrate their engagement with close family.

First time spending New Years Eve separated from family due to COVID.
