January.

2023.

The Hurricanes were playing the Canucks and they were leading in the first two periods. Laura was watching the game at V Pizza and hanging out with Dre as she tended bar that night. Dre had also invited her friend Brooke to come see her. Brooke came to the bar and Brooke and Laura met for the first time.

Then, the Hurricanes blew their lead in the third, went into overtime, and lost in a shootout. Brooke watched Laura swear at the TV and completely fall apart. Luckily, Laura was able to pull herself together and the two of them were able to get to know one another a little that night.

When they left the bar, they did what any single person would do after meeting someone they were interested in: they stalked each other on multiple social media platforms. After pouring over pictures of one another, Brooke assumed Laura's sister was her ex and Laura assumed Brooke's best friend was her ex.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks later and an extra ticket opened up for Brooke to join Laura and her friends for a drag brunch. Brooke and Laura hit it off and everyone enjoyed a Sunday Funday that continues to live on in infamy.
