Our Wedding

Laura was the first person Dave saw at Hopebridge, the autism therapy clinic where 4 of our 6 kids were attending at the time, on the very first day his youngest started therapy there. We spoke briefly, but we were both in relationships so nothing came of it at the time. Our story began back in April of 2020 at Hopebridge. Laura had noticed Dave and at kid pick up said to him "I realize I don't even know your name." Dave introduced himself and said we should "get tea and crumpets and all that." Laura wrote her phone number down and waited for an opportunity to pass it to him. She did so a few days later and Dave texted that same day. This was the beginning of Covid shutdowns, so our first date was at a park. We got Chipotle to go because all restaurants were closed in the lobby. We talked for hours, learning that we share a birthday, among many other coincidences that seemed to be the universe rooting for us. We dated for a few months, then Laura ended the relationship. She felt too overwhelmed by the strong feelings we both had so quickly. While we were broken up, we both dated other people, but we never stopped thinking of each other. Laura became single first, then Dave did a few months later. Over dinner, Dave confessed his undying love for Laura had never stopped. While holding a shaky fork of food listening to his proclamation, Laura was shocked, but she also knew she felt the same way. She had written in her journal days after the break up that she had made a big mistake. On February 16, 2021, we officially got back together and have been together ever since. On July 27, 2024, Dave proposed to Laura in front of Hopebridge, saying it's where we met, it's the reason we got together, and it kept us connected even while we were broken up. Through tears Laura said yes. The FAM Family (Filoso/Archer/Mercer) has been living together 4 years and we are so excited to make the union official!
